Can’t Win Me Back by Ginger Sue

Chapter 414
Lauren extended her hand toward Landon, her face partially buried between her knees. “Give it back to
me
“I saved your teddy bear last night. Can’t you give me this painting in return?”
Landon leaned against the desk, his well-built arms supporting him. “I really like this painting. Will you give
it to me, please?”
“I’ve already prepared your pre-present,” Lauren uttered timidly, her toes curling inward.
“Where is it?” Landon’s eyes lit up in excitement.
After around ten minutes, Landon was back in his Ferrari.
He
e couldn’t stop smiling from the immense, unprecedented satisfaction. He held a cake box in his left hand and the neatly rolled
portrait from earlier in his right hand.
He had been secretly hoping he could get a painting from Lauren when he saw the painting she gifted to Newton on his birthday.
A one-of-a-kind painting created just for him. He couldn’t believe that his dream came true. And that joy and satisfaction he felt
was indescribable.
Pleased, Landon kept the portrait away carefully. He hastily opened the cake box. Inside was a plain blueberry mousse cake. It
looked a bit hideous.
Nonetheless, he picked up some cream with his fingertip and put it into his mouth, savoring it slowly as he sucked on his finger,
Landon furrowed his brows. He chewed it thoroughly. He couldn’t help but wonder why it tasted a little
sour.

With a face mask on, Alyssa was still engrossed in playing games at her study table. It was already midnight, yet she had not
gone to bed.
In fact, she was already tired. It was just that she was worried about Sean.
He still hadn’t returned after carrying out her order to stalk Bryan. So, she played some games to keep herself awake while
waiting for Sean’s news.
ho had received emails sent by the official team.
They had invited her, the Queen of Killers in the international server, to participate in the professional tournament more than
once. However, she refused their offer every single time.
She was simply playing for enjoyment, not wanting to mix her amusement with money-making, especially since she was already
well-off.
A notification tone chimed. Jameson was online.
Rose: ‘Do you want to play a game together?”
Lucifer: “Okay. Bring me in.”
He connected to her voice chat, and his clear, melodious voice resonated in the study room.
“Good evening, Ms. Lucifer.”
“Good evening, Mr. Rose,” said Alyssa jokingly, “What kind of rose are you?”
“It seems like you handle pressure really well. Ada’s incident didn’t really impact you,” said Jameson as he smiled gently.
“Well, that’s because I live by a mantra.”
“What do you mean?”
“Haters gonna hate, players gonna play, so I’m just gonna shake it off.”
Jameson couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. He paused for a while, then said, “Can I help you regarding Ada’s incident?”

“It’s fine. This is a competition between me and the Beckett Group. Although it’s not a big deal, getting people from the Schmidt
Group involved is inappropriate. Thanks for your kind concern,” Alyssa replied, politely declining his offer.
of my own will, not on behalf of the Schmidt Group,” said Jameson softly, with a tinge
“I’m helping you out of my of concern in his voice.
Alyssa quirked a brow. “Don’t you believe in my abilities? Do you think I can’t handle this on my own?”
“No,” said Jameson helplessly. He chuckled softly before adding, “I don’t want you to be that tired. Then you can spend more
time playing games with me. You haven’t been online in days.”
Alyssa was stunned. She blinked her eyes. Could he have been waiting for her to go online for these past few days?
returned from Kontina, leaving him with free time. Besides, he didn’t have any friends. So,
