In a corner around this hallway was Tatiana, her eyes brimming with shock and sadness. She felt as if
invisible blades were thrusting into her heart as she observed the scene before her.
She had thought that she had already accepted the fact that Sean loved her sister.
Yet tonight’s events proved to be unbearably painful for her, shaking her to her core. Tears streamed from
her eyes as she cupped her mouth to silence her sobs.
Not wanting to disturb the two, she turned and ran away.
Her love for Sean could only be transmuted into sheer pain right now. There was nothing more
devastating than to willingly let him go.
“By the way, what has been up to you tonight?” Alyssa asked, gently knocking on Sean’s temple. “We’re not
playing Werewolf here. You don’t need to be so hostile.
“Simon’s still your brother, and your parents are present tonight, too. You can’t always take my side. You
need to have your own stance, too. How else would you be able to show yourself at home?”
Sean was determined, however. “Your side is my side, Ms. Alyssa.”
“Tsk. You’re a pretty good god brother, knowing how to care for me!” Alyssa teased, her eyes forming
crescent-shaped slits.
“I wouldn’t dare!” Sean hurriedly shook his head. “That was because Mr. Taylor was trying to pressure

“Oh, you have no idea what Winston is capable of. His tongue may be loose at times, but he never just

puts up an act to lie. If he said it, then he means it. He’s not the type to use you like that, anyway.
“Plus, Dad can easily care for Simon if he wants to. He was just trying to keep our families’ relationship
intact.” Alyssa grinned, patting Sean’s shoulder.
She added, “No pressure, though. Better godson than born out of wedlock, am I right?”
Sean just about choked on his own spit at that.
Tatiana staggered through the halls, her steps unsteady. She had had a lot to drink tonight. The combination of alcohol and tears
blurred her vision, making it difficult to see.
Her legs grew weak, and her thoughts began to unravel at the edges. She came perilously close to

She cursed silently. Was she actually getting lost in her own home?
“Sean... Sean...” Tatiana whimpered, her breathing picking up.
“Ouch!”
She suddenly came face to face with a wall, slamming nose-first into it. Her nose had hurt so bad that
more tears fell out of her eyes.
Just as Tatiana was about to fall back, the wall she slammed into curled an arm around her waist,
catching her. She fell right into the man’s chest.
“Be careful, Ms. Tatiana.”
She could vaguely see the man before her through her blurry vision. He looked quite like Sean.
Her heart pounded in her chest. “... Sean ...”
“No, Ms. Tatiana. I’m not Sean. I’m Simon, his elder brother,” Simon said, an amused curl on his lips.
