Can’t Win Me Back by Ginger Sue

Chapter 642
“Fuck me! Seriously? I’ve heard of the Beckett family daughter who never shows herself. So this is her? Wow, she’s even prettier
than I imagined!”
“That sister of hers, Betty, is always flaunting herself around like she’s some great beauty. But now we
know her sister is far more beautiful than her!”
“Tsk.... Mr. Harper’s taste in women really is fine!”
Seeing how chaotic the situation was becoming, Angelina swiftly sent two bodyguards to help create a
path for Landon amidst the crowd.
As the camera lights flashed in their faces, Lauren shyly buried her face in Landon’s shirt.
“Don’t worry. I’m right here,” Landon murmured in her ear.
“Okay.”
That simple response made happiness bloom in Landon’s chest.
“Is Ms. Lauren your new girlfriend, Mr. Harper?”
“Mr. Harper, are you two officially dating?”
Excited, the reporters tossed out one question after the other.
All of Solana City knew just how much of a playboy Landon was. However, he had never shown himself in public with any of the
other women. Lauren was a first, implying just how significant she was to him.
Landon stopped in his tracks and turned to face the cameras, holding Lauren closer. “That depends on what Ms. Lauren thinks.
She can say no, but regardless, I’ve chosen to be with her.”
His words left the crowd stunned.

Landon was reputed to insist on his ways and demands, never caring what other people said before deciding he wanted
something.
Yet this time he was treating Lauren with a level of respect he had never given before, setting himself at a

It was clear as day just how much he doted on Lauren.
The instant those words left his mouth, the crowd went wild.

“Mr. Harper,” Angelina said after some hesitation. “I’ll take care of the news that will break out online later
as fast as I can.”
“Why? Have I done something shameful?” Landon quipped, his gaze darkening.
“No, of course not.”
“Do you think I would care about what those lifeless, cruel, social justice-spouting idiots say online? Am I wrong for wanting to be
with the woman I like?”
No. Not in the least bit!
Angelina didn’t dare respond to that. She quickly turned back to the wheel.
Lauren was shivering lightly. Her gaze was filled with confusion when she met Landon’s eyes.
“Landon, I-”
“Don’t say a word, Lauren. I made this choice myself. It has nothing to do with you.” Landon tenderly
brushed her sweat-drenched hair behind her ear.

His eyes suddenly darkened, noticing the red mark on her cheek. “What happened to your cheek, Lauren?
Who did this to you?”
“It’s no biggie... I cut myself is all.” Lauren tried hiding it with her hair, but Landon grabbed her wrist,
stopping her.
Anger burned in his eyes as he grunted out, “Did Betty do this?”
Lauren could only bite her lip and stay quiet.
That was it. Landon was going to get back at that vile bitch, Betty, if it was the last thing he did!
“Please... don’t do that anymore, Landon. I don’t want to cause you trouble...” Lauren said, worried sick.
Landon smiled bitterly, holding her hand and leaning down to kiss her forehead. “You don’t cause me any
trouble at all, not a single bit. Everything I do is of my own free will.”
He would do this because he wanted her to be his woman and stay by his side!
