Javier sat in the audience and looked disdainfully at Jasper. "Look at all the company presidents here. Which one of them shaved their head to get a crew cut? Are you still serving in the military?

"You should pay more attention to your image. Also, you had surgery before. There's a scar on your scalp. Why didn't you wear a wig to cover it?"

Jasper lowered his gaze, his tone cold yet confident as he replied, " Everyone in Solana City knows about my injury. So, covering it would be pointless. Besides, even if I'm bald, it won't affect my good looks."

Javier pursed his lips upon hearing that. Despite having low opinions of many aspects of his son, he had to admit that Jasper had inherited all the best traits from him and Anne. Jasper was basically flawless and perfect.

"I'll have someone make a realistic wig for you tomorrow. Then, I'll send it over to you," Javier insisted.

In fact, it was not about the wig. Javier simply did not like that Jasper was going against him. Hence, he was always looking for opportunities to control the latter.

"I won't wear it even if you pass it to me. Alyssa said she likes my current hairstyle. So, as long as she likes it, I'll never change it."

Jasper's voice immediately softened when he mentioned Alyssa. "You-"

"And now, let's welcome the president of Beckett Group-Mr. Jasper Beckett!"

The audience erupted in thunderous applause. Jasper rose to his feet gracefully, ignoring Javier's grim expression. Then, he walked toward the stage.

Standing in front of the microphone, Jasper appeared collected and handsome. His presence was imposing.

One would never suspect that he recently had his head cut open as he looked incredibly energetic. Just as he was about to speak, the phone in his hand vibrated.

In the past, Jasper would ignore it. However, that night, Alyssa was unreachable. That was why he kept his phone with him the whole night.

Jasper worried that he would miss any of her calls or messages. Thus, when his phone vibrated, his heart skipped a beat too.

Then, with a straight face, he looked down and unlocked his phone screen. Jasper's pupils constricted as he scanned through the photos he received.

His heart pounded wildly. It was as if it was about to leap out of his chest.

In the next second, he turned and rushed down the stage, ignoring the confused looks of the crowd. The attendees could not help but exclaim, "What's going on?"

Meanwhile, Javier was also utterly bewildered. He leaned forward abruptly and said through gritted teeth, "What is this kid up to?"

Xavier, standing at the back door, became flustered as well. At the sight of that, he immediately ran after Jasper.

Outside the banquet hall, Jasper frowned as his handsome face turned pale. With each step he took, his pace quickened.

And right then, a woman with exquisite features and long hair approached directly. She was dressed in a white Chanel two-piece outfit. She exuded charm and elegance.

It was none other than Dominic's daughter, Renee. She noticed Jasper was walking toward her while looking straight forward. In an instant, excitement and joy washed over her.

Renee cast a seductive gaze at him as she raised her hand to greet the man. "Mr. Beckett-"

"Get out of my way!"

However, to her dismay, Jasper collided with her shoulder and walked away. He moved like a gust of wind, swift and forceful. Renee was in pain as she staggered.
