Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 405 - Cloud Cover Potion

After reaching the alchemy room, the first thing Xuan Hao did was make sure everything was in order and ready to be used.

Following closely behind him inside the room, Qing Yi stood quietly by the side as she patiently watched her master go over the different tools and spiritual herbs neatly placed together in easy to access locations.

"Everything should be fine…" Having made sure that everything was in order, Xuan Hao turned his attention away from the different tools and spiritual herbs he had gathered together over the past few hours.

"Master, what are we going to be doing? Alchemy practice or maybe the more theoretical side…?" Seeing her master having gone over the different tools and spiritual herbs, Qing Yi could not hold herself back from asking.

The moment she found out her master would be personally teaching her during the week leading up to the alchemy competition, Qing Yi had been extremely excited! This could be considered the first time her master would truly be teaching her alchemy!

Even during the few months leading up to the alchemy competition before they set off. The most he had helped her in regard to alchemy, was answer a few of her questions when she came to him for help.

While this had indeed helped her a lot, it was still different compared to having her master directly teach her over a longer period of time instead of just answering the questions she might have!

"Hm… I think we should start off with this."

Whoosh~

Thinking about it for a short moment, Xuan Hao soon waved his hand and caused a piece of paper to float over in front of him before several hundred words instantly appeared on the paper.

"This is the recipe to a Pinnacle Journeyman Alchemist Potion, the ingredients required for it are all present here and the first thing we will do today, is help you brew this potion!"

Whoosh!

Along with Xuan Hao finishing his last words, the piece of paper that had now been turned into a brand-new potion recipe flew over towards Qing Yi and hovered in front of her.

"This is… Cloud Cover? What does this potion do, master?" Reading the title of the potion on the top of the piece of paper along with the long list of steps involved in making the potion, Qing Yi could not help but grow curious about the effect of the Cloud Cover Potion.

From the name alone, Qing Yi did not really have any idea what purpose the potion had and looking at the different ingredients used in making the potion only ended up making her even more confused as to what use the Cloud Cover Potion would have.

It was the first time since she had started practicing alchemy, that she had ever come across such a weird potion… Just from the ingredients alone, it looked like someone had just grabbed a handful of spiritual herbs from a bag filled with random spiritual herbs!

The potion recipe made no sense to her, and she had no clue if it would even work! How would she ever figure out what the Cloud Cover Potion that her master gave to her did when she didn't even think that following the recipe would result in her getting a potion in the first place!

"What it does…? Hm… The Cloud Cover Potion will cover the user in a thin layer of clouds, that will make one lighter and at the same time make it easier to hide among clouds…" Thinking about it for a short moment, Xuan Hao soon explained what the Cloud Cover Potion did.

In the end, this only caused Qing Yi to grow even more confused as she heard about the use of the Cloud Cover Potion.

Doubtfully turning to look back down at the recipe that her master had given her filled with spiritual herbs known for their violent effects.

Take the Death Willow Root used in the Cloud Cover Potion as an example, well known for its poisonous nature to the point that it was widely known to have caused the death of countless unfortunate cultivators who accidently consumed the spiritual root in the belief that eating a spiritual root would help increase their cultivation realm…

Qing Yi had heard about the spiritual root from one of the elders of the Alchemy Hall, who had warned her about just how dangerous a Death Willow Root was! The elder in question even told her that she had seen someone in the Core Formation Realm die after consuming a Death Willow Root!

How did such a scary spiritual root ever have anything to do with making one's body lighter and allowing one to hide among the clouds covered by a thin layer of clouds!?

"Now, should we get started? First, I will make a Cloud Cover Potion so you can see how its done. After that, I will go over any questions you have, and you will make one yourself! Of course, I will help you from the side and help correct you in case you make any mistakes." Not realizing how doubtful Qing Yi currently was about the Cloud Cover Potion even being a potion in the first place, Xuan Hao gathered the spiritual herbs needed for the potion before he began the brewing process.

Given that the potion was one he had already practiced over the past few months and the fact that it was one of the recipes he had gained through the system, Xuan Hao easily went through the process of mixing the different spiritual herbs without making any mistakes and soon enough an airy and bubbly liquid that was a pure white colour could be seen inside the cauldron Xuan Hao was using.

"Wha-?!" Seeing the entire thing happening before her, Qing Yi could not help but let out a gasp of shock at just how skilled her master was.

At first the liquid had been in a colour similar to charcoal when the first few herbs had entered the cauldron, but somehow after a few minutes under her master's skilful manipulation of the liquid inside the cauldron and the new spiritual herbs being added in at just the right time. The liquid had gone from looking like liquid charcoal, to becoming a pure white, airy and bubbly liquid!

Just looking at it, Qing Yi could not help opening her mouth in shock. Even without personally testing the pure white liquid, she could tell that the poisonous effect of the Death Willow Root and the other poisonous herbs that had been were gone.

Whoosh! contemporary romance

Upon seeing that the liquid inside the cauldron had turned into an airy and bubbly white liquid, Xuan Hao used his ice domain to quickly cool down the mixture before pouring it into a few empty potion bottles that he had already placed on the ground beneath the cauldron.

"And… Done!" Filling up the last potion bottle and placing it on top of the table located just beside the cauldron he had used during the brewing process, Xuan Hao turned around to see Qing Yi staring fixatedly at the potion bottles he had just filled up.

Seeing her look so intently towards the potion bottles, Xuan Hao could not help but feel a bit proud inside.

"You can just take one if you want to study the finished product before attempting to make on by yourself."

"T-thank you, master…" Shyly thanking her master as she realized that her intentions had been seen through, Qing Yi quickly hopped over towards the table and picked up one of the bottles filled with the still airy and bubbly white liquid that made up the Cloud Cover Potion.

Not wasting any time after getting her hands on one of the potion bottles, Qing Yi quickly began to observe the liquid inside of it more closely before cautiously bringing the potion bottle up to her lips.

Pwhoosh!

"Wha-what is this?!" Exclaiming in shock as she suddenly felt herself begin floating from lightly pushing against the ground beneath her as a thin layer of clouds covered her body, Qing Yi didn't know what to do as she had never felt something so bizarre before.

Even if her body was lighter, it was not to the degree that it would make it easier for her to fight. Instead, it was more like she had become too light, to the point that even exerting a slight amount of strength would cause her float away without being able to get down again in the short term.

After all, it was only people in the Domain Lord Realm that had the ability to fly… Floating might be a nice thing but given the fact that she could not control where she went, Qing Yi did not feel that the floating benefitted her in the slightest. Especially not when she was currently in the process of slowly floating towards the ceiling of the alchemy room without being able to stop herself…
