Chapter 1221 Embarrassing
Hattie spoke with determination.
“Miss, but this!”
Dominique wanted to say something more, but upon seeing Hattie’s expression, she swallowed her words.

The next morning, Emmanuel, exhausted from a night of labor, was awakened by the ringing of the phone before he could get a
good sleep. “Hello, Mom. What’s up?” he asked sleepily.
“Emmanuel, where are you? Something significant has happened!”
“What happened, Mom!” Emmanuel immediately sprung up from bed.
Mackenzie, who had no plans to go to work today, was awakened by his movement.
“Tommy suddenly got a fever. He vomited and even passed out, but Ryder is in the hospital now. There’s no one to take care of
them!” Alessandra’s voice was filled with anxiety.
“Mom, don’t worry. I’ll be right-there!”
After hanging up the phone, Emmanuel quickly got out of bed to wash up. Turning around, he found that Mackenzie had also
woken up. “Mackenzie, I need to go to the hospital. My mom said Tommy was sent to Beacon Hospital, too!”
”
“I’ll go with you.”

“Uh, okay! But don’t you have to work?” Emmanuel asked before realizing how foolish he was to ask the question.
And sure enough, Mackenzie glared at him coldly, as if she wanted to strangle him. He had been so rough last night, causing her
so much pain, as if she were torn apart. How could she possibly go to work today? Well, visiting your cousin in the hospital would
be a perfect excuse.
“Then... I’ll wait for you outside after I get ready.”
Emmanuel quickly went to wash up and then made a swift exit.
Soon, the couple arrived at Beacon Hospital.
Juan, accompanied by Rhea, personally received them.
Juan was focused on work-related matters and didn’t notice anything unusual about Mackenzie, but Rhea noticed at a glance
that Mackenzie seemed a bit strange. She tried her best to walk normally, and there was nothing particularly noticeable at first
glance, but Rhea, being a medical student, quickly figured out what was going on.
While Mackenzie was discussing Ryder and Tommy’s conditions with Juan, she quietly gave Emmanuel a pinch and whispered
in his ear, “Did you finally gather up the courage last night? Congratulations!”

While Mackenzie was discussing Ryder and Tommy’s conditions with Juan, she quietly gave Emmanuel a pinch and whispered
in his ear, “Did you finally gather up the courage last night? Congratulations!”
Uh... Emmanuel’s face turned slightly red. He hadn’t expected that such a thing would have consequences. Should he admit it
now? It was so awkward!
“What are you shy about? I’m your relationship strategist, so I should take some credit for this. You should treat me to a meal to
thank me!” Rhea whispered quietly, sticking her tongue out.
“Okay, wait until my business is finished.” Emmanuel quickly tried to change the subject. Otherwise, the more people knew about
it, the more embarrassing it would be.
“Haha! Okay!” Fortunately, Rhea also knew when to stop and immediately shut up.
At this moment, Emmanuel heard Juan say with a sigh, “The bullet hit Ryder’s seventh and eighth thoracic vertebrae as well as
his spine. Although he is out of danger, he is likely to be paralyzed in the future.” Then, he continued, “As for his son, after a
detailed examination, I think he might have been poisoned. Unfortunately, our hospital’s doctors lack experience in this area and
are at a loss for the time being.”
Mackenzie thanked Juan for his explanation, but she still wanted to visit Ryder and his son with Emmanuel.
“What did Rhea just say to you?” As they walked out the door, Mackenzie quietly asked Emmanuel, her eyes piercing. She
figured that what Rhea had said must have something to do with her. This is so embarrassing! If this happens again, I might not
want to do it anymore.
“N-Nothing. She just told me about Tommy’s condition. I have to go see Tommy first,” Emmanuel still had a will to survive, and
this wasn’t exactly a lie. After all, Rhea did mention that Tommy’s condition was urgent.
Mackenzie shot him another glare and ceased discussing these personal matters. However, walking was painful for her as she
experienced a burning sensation. I’ve long been aware that this kind of thing is not a good one. It is too detrimental to women;
who would engage in it if not for love?
The four of them swiftly reached Tommy’s room. As the father and son were in separate wards, Alessandra was looking after
Ryder. Surprisingly, Tia was the one attending to Tommy here.
“Ah, Mr. Lowe and Ms. Quillen, you’re here.”
