“Reporting to Officer Summerton, we are just following protocol.”
The two men spoke without displaying any emotions.
Ashton turned around and said to Emmanuel, “I'll go inside and take a look. You
guys wait here.”
Emmanuel nodded. He used to dislike Ashton when they were enemies, but now
that they were on the same side, she might turn out to be quite reliable!
Ashton quickly walked inside with long strides.
