Chapter 389
If she had realized this earlier, things wouldn’t have escalated to this point.

However, Terence also knew that young people had to lose something before
they could understand its value. Although this trouble was significant, as long
as his granddaughter could bring his son–in–law back, it would be worth it.
“Well, whatever challenges you face, remember to tell me. As long as you
and Emmanuel are fine, everything else can be worked out.”
Terence said these words and turned around to leave.
Felicity had a strange expression. She was struggling to speak but ultimately
remained silent, and she left with a dark face.
Sarah finally walked over to Mackenzie with a smile and said, “Mackenzie, if
things become too hard for you, take some time to rest!”
Mackenzie looked at her with wariness. It was quite different from how she
treated Beatrix.
Sarah smiled again before turning away.
Beatrix approached Mackenzie and pouted. “Mackenzie, I know you have a
dislike for Sarah, but what she said is right. Don’t exhaust yourself. Take care
of yourself!”
“Fine. Since you’re saying the same, go help with the warehouse situation!”
After speaking, she stood up and left the office.

Her mind was now focused on Emmanuel and Claudette. She had little
thought to spare for work. This state of mind was something she had never
experienced before. Her focus was difficult to maintain, and the image of
Emmanuel and Claudette driving down the mountain together kept playing
in her mind. She truly wanted to see Emmanuel now. Even though she had
hurt him so much, why did he come back to save her in the end? Why?
After leaving the company, Mackenzie drove alone to Emmanuel’s house.
Emmanuel had been taken to the police station, and she was worried that
Alessandra hadn’t heard the news yet. She needed to console Alessandra
and prevent her from the news getting dumped on her out of the blue.
At this moment, Alessandra was indeed feeling anxious at home. She had
been trying to contact her son since last night but received no response. She
had no idea where he had gone, especially after Terence had called her last
night, saying he would find a way for Emmanuel and Mackenzie to reconcile.
Why is there suddenly no news?
“Could it be that the reconciliation with Mackenzie failed, and he’s feeling
upset?” Alessandra muttered to herself.
The next moment, she heard someone knocking on the door and
immediately perked up.
“He’s here!” Alessandra eagerly opened the door, thinking it would be her son,
but to her surprise, it was a woman.
“Mom!”
Standing outside the door was Abellyn, who agitatedly called out.
“Oh, it’s you!”
Alessandra didn’t know how to respond at first. Although Abellyn had called
her “Mom” before, Abellyn had never been this agitated.
“Mom, you have to help me!” Abellyn rushed forward and tightly hugged
Alessandra, sobbing and wailing, “I can’t even go back home now. I miss my
son so much... You have to help me!”
Alessandra quickly said, “Okay, let go of me first, then we’ll talk. I can’t
breathe!”
Her tone wasn’t cold, but it carried an air of authority as an elder.
Reluctantly, Abellyn let go of her hands but continued wiping her tears,
pretending to be pitiful.
“Abellyn, what can I say? You had a loving husband and a family. Why did you
insist on finding another man outside? You brought disaster upon yourself!”
Alessandra couldn’t help but scold her. She had always regarded Ryder as
her son and treated Abellyn as her daughter–in–law. Now, she had to teach
”
Abellyn a lesson.
