Mistaken Match: Marrying the Enigmatic CEO by Ruby Fennimore

Chapter 438
That evening, Mackenzie sat on the sofa while feeling content and burping
after having a satisfying dinner.
Some people said that burping was essentially passing gas through one’s
mouth.
Mackenzie quickly covered her mouth and realized that she had eaten too
much tonight. If this happened at a social event, her image as a goddess for
over twenty years would likely be shattered, and those men who admired her
would probably drop their jaws in shock!
In the upper society, everyone only cared about her outward appearance.
Who would care if she was a normal person? Because Mackenzie was
beautiful, those men believed she was a flawless and impeccable robot who
was forever radiant and would never embarrass herself!
Although Mackenzie appeared superior in public, the pressure she carried on
her shoulders was known only to herself.
Fortunately, Emmanuel was busy tidying up since he returned, and no one
could see her current unqueenly appearance!
However, Mackenzie couldn’t deny that this carefree time without restrictions
made her feel incredibly relaxed. She used to worry about maintaining her
image, and that invisible burden was too heavy. It was also one of the

reasons why she didn’t want to get married.
Now, she found yet another reason to be with Emmanuel. In front of this man,
she didn’t have to worry about her image too much, and he wouldn’t make
any demands on her.
However, seeing Emmanuel busy with various tasks since he came back, she
couldn’t help but feel a bit sorry for him. She stood up and walked to him
while saying, “Let me do the dishes tonight!”
In her mind, she added, It’s also a way to promote digestion.
“You?”
Emmanuel was stunned as he looked at Mackenzie with disbelief on his face.
She had never done any household chores before, and knowing that she was
the young lady of the Quillen family and a goddess who never got her hands
dirty, he couldn’t let her do household chores!
“There’s no need. You can go and focus on your work!”
“I don’t have work today!”
Mackenzie’s attitude was firm. Today, she wouldn’t work.
“Why don’t you watch some dramas then?” Emmanuel suggested. He also
wished that his wife could relax during her leisure time, watch some dramas,
and even look at handsome male celebrities. He wouldn’t feel jealous. It was
the only way he could spoil Mackenzie. “I only watch documentaries and

news.”
Mackenzie’s reply left Emmanuel speechless once again. He couldn’t help but
wonder if his wife was truly normal.
“All right. I’ll do the dishes! You go watch dramas!”
She forcefully took the dishwashing gloves from Emmanuel. From tonight
onward, she decided to be a competent wife. He felt pleasantly surprised by
the special treatment, but he knew her personality. If he insisted on not
letting her do household chores, she would likely get angry.
“Mackenzie, the dishwashing liquid goes on top of the sink. You just need a
small amount, no more than two spoonsful!”
“Okay. I’know. Don’t treat me like a three-year-old child. I can be a good
homemaker!”
Even though she herself didn’t believe those words she said, she thought that
washing dishes was no big deal. It couldn’t be too difficult for someone as
intellectually gifted as her... right? The next moment, she dared not entertain
such thoughts anymore.
She pressed the damn dishwashing liquid pump twice, but nothing came
out. Then, she pressed it a bit harder a couple of times which caused the
dishwashing liquid to splatter all over.
The tap water kept running, and Mackenzie hurriedly wiped off the

dishwashing liquid from her body. When she finally looked at the sink, it was
filled with foam. Terrified, she quickly turned off the faucet, but in her panic,
she accidentally knocked over the dishes on the edge!
Clang! Clang! Clang!
It was like a chain reaction.
Mackenzie suspected that she had just played a game of dominoes...
“Mackenzie, what happened?”
After hearing the commotion, Emmanuel rushed over within three seconds
and was dumbfounded by the chaotic kitchen scene.
Mackenzie’s pretty face blushed with embarrassment, but she quickly put on
a composed front and said, “Don’t think I don’t know the right amount. It was
just a little accident, and washing with more foam will make it cleaner.”
He nodded seriously. “Indeed. That makes sense, but be careful with the
broken pieces on the floor. I’m afraid you might cut your feet. Your skin is so
delicate!”
