Chapter 1438
The crowd turned their heads to see a stylish man standing beside Jaylene, gently reminding her that one of her earrings was
loose.
The man was none other than Jaylene's makeup artist, Michael Caleb. Jaylene tried to adjust her jewelry, but Michael
intercepted her and said, "I'll take care of it."
He fixed Jaylene's earrings and tucked in a few of her loose hairs. "I'll be right here, Ms. Saun. Just give me a call if you need
anything."
Jaylene nodded in response. Once Michael stepped away, her circle of friends began to chat.
"Is that Michael Caleb, the top-tier makeup artist in the industry?"
"I was wondering why Jaylene's makeup looked so different today. Turns out Mr. Caleb had a hand in it. His skills are
extraordinary."
"It's incredibly tough to book him. My friend couldn't even get an appointment for her birthday."
"Jaylene, your makeup looks exquisite. The Sauns' long-lost daughter is going to be overshadowed when she stands next to you
later."
"If Jaylene can hire such an impressive makeup artist, I bet her makeup artist must be just as good, right?"
"Michael is basically at the top of the industry. Who could the long-lost daughter of the Saun family possibly hire that's better than
him?"
"It's just some makeup, guys. There's no need to argue," Jaylene modestly said.
However, things would be a little awkward if Stella's makeup artist was not on par with Jaylene's. After all, she had already
selected a hotel not up to the circle's standards.
Jaylene's friends thought that the true heiress of the Saun family was no better than Jaylene. They agreed that their friend's
status would not waver with her return.
Felicity lingered around, intently listening to the group while sending snippets of the conversation to Stella, bit by bit.
Then she intentionally said on the phone, "This place is full of shallow gossipers. You're better off not coming."
The crowd fell silent.
Jaylene looked at Felicity in disdain, just to have her eyes met with a defiant stare. Felicity proceeded to say into the phone,
"Someone's sure being a pick-me girl here."
Jaylene was stunned to hear that.
Seeing that his girlfriend was going too far, Vermont hurried over to pull her away. "I've been searching everywhere for you," he
said, whisking her away.
As they left, Jaylene's group of friends started to gossip.
"That woman speaks so rudely. Who is she? How did she
end up with Mr. Snyder?"
"It seems she's his new girlfriend. She even made an official announcement on social media."
"Is Mr. Snyder blind? How did he fall for such a crude?"
"Maybe he finds simplicity appealing after indulging in the finer things for so long," one of the girls said.
"Let go of me!" Felicity yelled, struggling to break free. Wanting to subdue her, Vermont firmly grabbed her face and kissed her.
Felicity froze and became compliant in an instant.
"Why bother with those people? No matter how beautiful she thinks she is, Jaylene can't compare to Stella."
Felicity found solace in his words. "But she hired the makeup artist on purpose. You saw when people were praising her for it
earlier, right? The look in her eyes and posture indicated that it was intentional. I was infuriated as I stood there and watched!
"She's been with the Saun family for years, and they've never mistreated her. We're here to celebrate the fact that they found
their long-lost daughter. Why the hell is she trying so hard to be the center of attention at such an important event?! What an
ungrateful child," She continued.
Vermont chuckled and said, "It's understandable for her to act like this. She and Trevor were supposed to inherit the Saun
family's wealth. Now that Stella's back, she feels threatened, especially since she's the only one who was adopted."
Felicity was about to say something when she received a message. She opened it and found a selfie from Stella with the
caption, "My looks are definitely going to win them over."
