Chapter 1471
Keegan did not quite understand what Stella meant, but he caught on to her teasing tone. He grabbed a low stool to sit beside
her and casually rolled up his sleeves. "Today marks your official return to the Saun family, so you're getting special treatment."
With that, he gently submerged her feet into the water.
’Am I not getting this treatment anymore after this?” Stella asked.
'You'll get it upon our remarriage. The treatment you'll receive as Mrs. Kane will be higher than that of my girlfriend. Today's a
special exception for you to enjoy in advance," Keegan explained.
’I don’t remember getting special treatment when I was still married to you, " Stella pointed out.
'Well, I was a useless husband back then. All I had were my looks. Now, I'm trying to be better by washing your feet!" Keegan
chuckled.
Stella was quiet. Considering the context, she could not argue with Keegan. He was an excellent flirt. He could always take a
casual remark and weave it into something more, making her shy.
Stella gritted her teeth. "Grandma said you're not good with words. Looks like you've been using all your linguistic prowess on
me, huh?"
Keegan massaged her feet, smiling as he said, "I just wanted to talk with you more."
"Back when we weren't divorced yet, you seemed pretty impatient with my chatter," Stella stated.
Keegan had initially wanted to deny any impatience, but when he recalled his behavior in the months leading up to their divorce,
he had to admit there was an issue. It was not that he was impatient with Stella; he was intolerant of her constant talk of
separation.
"I'm sorry," Keegan apologized sincerely. "Thank you, Mrs. Kane, for being so forgiving and willing to give US another chance. I
realize that looks do carry some weight."
Stella stared at him and gave him a kick. The water from her feet splashed onto his shirt, leaving a wet stain.
Keegan caught her ankle and gently placed her foot back into the water.' Stop messing around. You can soak for a bit, then get
ready for bed. It's almost dawn."
Hearing that, Stella felt incredibly tired. She leaned back on the couch and yawned. "You go ahead and sleep. You have work in
the morning. I'll take my time."
'It won't make much of a difference," Keegan replied.
'Then I'll hurry up and wash," Stella murmured softly.
She talked to him about how nervous she was before going on stage, and her voice gradually grew softer and more distant.
As Keegan dried her feet, she drifted into the realm of dreams.
When he lifted her up, Stella briefly woke up. Her drowsy eyes met Keegan's, and she whispered, "Honey?"
'Mhm?" Keegan replied. Stella closed her eyes again and murmured, "Go to sleep; don't stay up late. Now that I have the money,
I'll take care of you in the future."
Keegan did not say a word. He did not know whether to be amused or exasperated by Stella wanting to care for him financially.
He sighed and lowered his head to plant a kiss on her forehead before carrying her to the bedroom.
In the week following the banquet, Stella's days were filled with acting and spending time with Wilfred and Edith. Sometimes,
they shared meals as a family; other times, they explored the city. The elderly couple found it challenging to adapt to the damp
climate of Rivera. Due to the reveal event, they had been in town for an extended period. Now, they were cherishing their
moments alone with their granddaughter while also making preparations to return home.
