father will treat you like family.”
Sabrina had anticipated that Rita wouldn’t give up easily. So it came as no surprise when she received a message from Rita.

Sabrina sneered as she read these messages and promptly replied, “No, thanks. I’ve been alone for over twenty years. Having a
mother or not doesn’t make a difference to me now. I know there’s no such thing as a free ride in life. I’m not that naive to be

easily swayed by your promises. If you care about me, as you say you do, then don’t disrupt my life again.”
Rita frowned at Sabrina’s mocking words and started to write a reply.
“Trust me. I want to make it up to you. Do you have time tomorrow to meet me?”
Yet, this message couldn’t be sent to Sabrina. It turned out Sabrina had blocked this number.

The next day, while Sabrina was on the film crew, a teacher at Jennie’s kindergarten called her.

The teacher on the other end of the line said, “Miss Chavez, a lady came to the kindergarten claiming to be Jennie’s
grandmother and expressed a desire to take her away.”
Sabrina was stunned. She immediately exclaimed, “You can’t allow her to take Jennie away.”
“We’re aware of that. However, the lady refuses to leave and insists on seeing you.”

Sabrina furrowed her brow and fell silent for a few seconds, gathering her thoughts. Then she said, “Can you put her on the
