Scars Of A Broken Bond by Calv Momose

White noise filled Sabrina’s ears and her vision went blurry for a moment. When the world came into focus again, Sabrina turned
around to face Rita and growled, “You don’t have to try any more tricks.
Even if you tell me that my father is the president, I won’t forgive Brady.”
Smiling faintly, Rita gave Sabrina a once-over and replied, “Sabrina, I’m telling the truth.”
Rita heaved a sigh and explained, “Back then, I was working hard and accidentally offended someone, so I hastily married
Connor. He was a good man, but I was not in love with him. Sometime later, your biological father came to me...”
“So you cheated on Connor?” Sabrina demanded in a stern tone, her voice breaking on the last word.
Rita didn’t deny the accusation.

“Do you want to know who your biological father is? His name is Osiris Clifford and he has a daughter called Galilea. If you don’t
believe me, you can ask Tyrone.
I’m sure he already found out about the truth a long time ago.”
Sabrina felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her Limbs became lead, too heavy for her to move and her mind went blank.
There was a tense silence for several seconds. When Sabrina could think again, she declared in a low voice, “This revelation
means nothing to me. I will not forgive Brady.”

“Initially, I thought that Osiris came to save me, but it turned out that he was just messing around with me and never intended to
marry me. Later, I traveled to another city and met another man.
I wanted to take you with me, but it was difficult for me to get into the Fowler family since I had no status to speak of, and that
was without taking into account the fact that I had a child. All the people around him didn’t want me to be with him, and some
people even tried to hurt me. Sierra’s parents got killed because of me, so I can’t leave Sierra to her fate. Sabrina, I hope you
can understand me.”
However, Sabrina didn’t sympathize with Rita as Rita had hoped.
Sabrina was certain that if Rita wanted to take her to the Fowler family, Rita would have done it. Even if it wasn’t possible then,
Rita could have done it now. So why did Rita do anything but take care of her for over 20 years? And why did Rita only come to
her when Sierra was in trouble?
Those harsh words Rita had spoken to her in the hospital last time echoed loudly in her mind.
Sabrina struggled to pull herself together and turned to look at Rita.
“If you hadn’t come here to ask me to forgive Brady, maybe I would have understood your plight.”
“Sabrina, I don’t care whether you hate me or not, but I have to do this for Sierra,” Rita stated, a resolute expression in her eyes.
“To be honest, I didn’t intend to give birth to you. If I hadn’t, things wouldn’t have been so difficult for me and Horace. Just forgive
Brady since you ought to repay my kindness of giving birth to you, as well as repaying me for what Osiris did to me.
Sabrina was astounded at how shameless Rita could be.

“Keep dreaming. You gave birth to me and abandoned me. I don’t owe you anything. If nothing else, you owe me.”
“Sabrina, you are a little emotional now, so you will easily make the wrong choice. I suggest you go back and think about it
carefully.”
After a pause, Rita continued, “I heard that it was Tyrone who helped you solve the problem last time when the Garrett family
came and threatened you. If the Fowler family intervenes this time, will he still be able to help you? What chance does he stand
against the Fowler family and the Garrett family? Will he always go to extreme lengths to solve your problems for you?”
It was getting warmer in April, but it was still so cold at night.
