Scars Of A Broken Bond by Calv Momose

ita lowered her head, sighing.
“I didn’t expect that... Sierra is my brother’s only child. I can’t bear to see her go to jail. Horace, can’t you manage to help her out
this one last time? If she can get out, you can send her to any school you like, and I’ll never...”
Horace turned around and fixed Rita with a glare that could pierce through steel.
The intensity of Horace’s gaze made Rita shiver, leaving her feeling unsettled and apprehensive.
“Is that what you think after I bailed you out?” Horace asked, narrowing his gaze.
“What?”
Horace shook his head in disbelief.
“Sabrina is your biological daughter, and yet you seem unconcerned about her well-being. Instead, you’re trying to save a human
trafficker! Rita, how have you changed so much? Why? Why have you become like this?”
Horace looked at Rita as if she were a stranger, not the woman he once knew and loved.
When he first met Rita, she was resilient, determined, considerate, and, at the same time, tender and charming. These qualities
captured his heart and made him fall in love with her.
Why had Rita changed so drastically? Even if she asserted she hated that abusive ex-husband who had passed away, Sabrina
was her biological daughter and shouldn’t be held responsible for the past.
Why was Rita so cold-blooded toward her own daughter?

“You raised Sierra to become a human trafficker! Do you think your brother would be proud of what you have done? I’ve decided.
Nicol will go to boarding school! Stay away from him,” Horace cautioned.
Horace didn’t want Rita near Nicol anymore, fearing a negative influence.
Rita’s heart skipped a beat as she pleaded, “Horace, please. Nicol is still so young, and he has asthma. He needs me!”
“He’ll be fine with the nanny around. He’s not a young child anymore.
It’s time for him to learn to be independent.”
Horace strode forward, saying, “We’re going back, and tomorrow we will apologize to the Blakely family. Don’t even think about
trying to post bail for Sierra. The case is serious, and the authorities are monitoring it closely.”
Rita opened her mouth but didn’t dare say more.
As she hurried to keep up with Horace, memories of Sierra clinging to her arm flooded back, tears streaming down her face.
Rita’s heart ached for Sierra.
Rita had left Sabrina alone and never bothered to take a look at the latter, let alone take care of her. With Sierra’s parents’
passing, Rita had raised Sierra as her own, treating her like a daughter for many years. The idea of seeing Sierra go to jail was
unbearable for her.
Faced with Horace’s reluctance to help Sierra, she had to consider alternative plans.
Sabrina took the time to go to the police station. Learning that Sierra was the mastermind behind kidnapping her didn’t come as
a surprise to her.

A police officer said to Sabrina in a low voice, “Miss Chavez, don’t worry. It’s a significant case. Even if Sierra has connections,
she won’t get away with it.”
