Scars Of A Broken Bond by Calv Momose

Chapter 1070
Lysander’s breath was heavy, his eyes smoldered a deep crimson, and a vein throbbed at his temple. His jaw was clenched
tight, and the hand gripping her chin was so tense that the veins on the back of his hand stood out.
This woman, even now, acted as if he couldn’t care less, still deceiving him!
Her aloofness and nonchalance, all fueled Lysander’s rage. He really should just strangle her! His grip tightened.
“Ouch, that hurts...” Thalassa winced, her features contorted with pain. She struggled to breathe as the pain was unbearable. A
pained cry escaped her throat.
Lysander’s red eyes flickered. Her cry of pain seemed to tug at his nerves, fueling his fury to the point he wanted to kill her, yet
his hand involuntarily loosened its grip.
“I will get to the bottom of the truth! You’d better stay put and behave yourself!” Lysander grounded out the icy words through
clenched teeth, let go of her chin, and stormed out of the hospital room.
The oppressive coldness withdrew, and the sharp pain in her jaw eased as Thalassa’s tensed body slumped. Her hands propped
her up on the bed. She bent over as she gasped for air, her rapid breathing turning into coughs.
“Cough, cough cough...” The abdominal pain flared up again with each cough.
Thalassa immediately covered her belly with her free hand, trying to ease the pain by cradling her stomach.
Earlier, when her coughing had started, Lysander had shown a flash of concern and instantly called for a doctor. But now,
hearing her cough, he didn’t even look back as he strode out of the room.
Thalassa was all too aware of the stark difference in his behavior. Initially, he had believed the child she carried was his, which
explained his earlier concern. But now, suspecting that the child might be Callum’s, he couldn’t care less about the fate of the
baby, let alone her feelings.
Holding her belly, Thalassa laughed bitterly, her eyes stinging with unshed tears.
Why had he never considered her situation or cared for her feelings, yet insisted on keeping her tied to him?
Why was he so domineering?

Letting her go would spare them both the constant suspicion and anger.
Wouldn’t it be better for them both if she could just leave?
Sitting back against the pillows, Thalassa tried to calm her pained and ragged breaths.

She went from self-mockery to a gradual stillness of emotion.
She knew that her distress could threaten the baby, so no matter how aggrieved or miserable she felt, she had to console
herself, regulate her mood, and find peace. Only then could she protect her child.
Even if Lysander didn’t believe the child was his, it was still hers, and she would love her child regardless.
Lysander, cold as ice, returned to the Sinclair Group headquarters.
A somber mood had descended over the entire Sinclair Group, affecting every employee. They all tiptoed around their tasks,
fearful of making the slightest mistake.
David entered the CEO’s office to report, “Mr. Sinclair, the stocks that Lucy invested in have plummeted within an hour. Her
family is facing financial ruin.”
Lysander’s gaze lifted. A sharp, icy stare focused on David.
David shivered under that gaze anxiously and uneasily. “Mr. Sinclair, is there a problem?”
David asked tentatively.
“Did Amelia call you?” Lysander’s voice was cool and firm, not asking but stating.
David, head bowed, reported, “Amelia said she needed to speak with you urgently. I thought, with you being at the hospital and
all, that it wouldn’t interfere...”

David’s voice trailed off, waiting for Lysander’s response, hoping not to have added fuel to the fire.
