Chapter 1157
"Sect Leader!!!"
"Dad!!!"
Everyone from Mount Thunder Sect was distressed at the kidnapping of their leader.
"James, you're going to regret it if you touch my father!!!" Delainey looked in the direction James was leaving and screeched at
him vengefully.
Meanwhile, at the highest peak of the mountain range, a bearded old man stood at a cliffs edge and silently observed the fight.
However, he did not make any attempts to interfere and watched as James left with Mount Thunder Sect’s leader.
After James captured Jackson, he quickly disappeared from everyone's sight and left Mount Thunder Sect's territory.
James set Jackson down on the snowy mountain peak on another mountain about tens of kilometers away from Mount Thunder
Sect's territory.
Cough!
Jackson wretched and coughed up a mouthful of blood.
James glanced at Jackson's pale face which was struggling to maintain its composure.
Jackson licked his lips and opened his mouth weakly.
"James, Mount Thunder Sect has no grievances or bad blood with the Cadens. To the best of my knowledge, I myself have done
nothing to wrong you either. So, why are you doing this?"
James sat down in a lotus position. He looked at Jackson and stated calmly, “I was left with no other choice and was forced to do
this. People from the Gu Sect have captured the people I care about and demanded I assassinate you. If I didn’t comply, then
their lives would be forfeit."
Jackson went silent.
James continued. "I've no choice but to kill you to guarantee the safety of the people I care about."
Soon, James walked along the snow-capped mountain with a head in his hands. He carried the head to Mount Thunder Sect's
headquarters and tossed it carelessly it at their entrance. Then, he turned and left.
After leaving, he took out his phone and called the person who had contacted him.
"I've already disposed of Mount Thunder Sect's leader, Jackson. Where are my friends?”
“Haha! Wonderful, James! Looks like I was right about you.” A wicked chuckle came from the other end of the phone.
The person on the phone was Lucjan, Gu Sect's Deputy Leader.
He had a number of spies planted in Mount Thunder Sect. This was how he knew about the battle between James and Jackson.
He also heard that James had killed Jackson and left his head at the entrance to Mount Thunder Sect.
"Cut the crap. Where are they? Tell me now.” James asked, his voice as cold and sharp as the blade he used to decapitate
Jackson.
"Patience, James. You have nothing to worry about. They're fine. I will guarantee their safety as long as you obey me.”
James had already expected half as much. The enemy was still holding the lives of his friends against him as they made even
more demands of James even despite him killing Jackson for them.
He hissed, "What else do you want from me?"
"You're truly a force to be reckoned with, James. I never expected you to actually defeat Jackson in a head-on battle. What I
need you to do next is very simple. The Mount Thunder Conference is soon upon us. I need you to wait en route to Mt. Thunder
and attack the various sect leaders and family heads. I won’t ask you to kill them, but you have to at least incapacitate them
gravely enough that they lose their ability to fight."
Since he now had power over James, he wanted to make good use of him.
Lucian wanted to take advantage of James’ skills and cripple the seasoned practitioners of various sects and ancient martial arts
families to weaken their strength.
Doing this would save him a lot of trouble in the future.
James did not immediately agree to his demand. "First, I want to see my friends. I need to know if they're still alive.”
“Alright. I'll send you a location.”
Soon, James received a set of coordinates. He did not remain a second longer and speedily rushed to the location.
In a secluded villa in the suburb of Terentville, more than 200 kilometers away from Mount Thunder Sect's headquarters, Lucjan
laughed darkly. " Haha! James sure is efficient at handling things. How could I have neglected to bring someone like him over
until this time? Now, I won't have to worry about my plans being derailed."
"Sir, we can make James do anything now. As long as we have his friends captive, he'll follow our orders like a dog," a middle-
aged man said as he sneered.
"Mhm, not bad." Lucjan was in a good mood.
Mount Thunder Sect was the King's confidant and one of his main supporters.
Now that Jackson was dead, Lucjan had one less obstacle in his path
