Chapter 1165
James was unable to accept such things.
They currently lived in an era of peace where everyone was supposed to live as equals. No one was supposed to be inferior to
others.
He stood up, took the cigarette, and left. He opened the balcony door and walked outside.
Standing on the balcony, he looked toward the distant landscape covered in snow.
Seeing that James was completely uninterested in them, they had no choice but to get dressed.
"Sir..."
James was deep in thought as he looked into the snowscape when a sudden cry brought him back to the present.
He returned to his senses and looked at the two women coming out to the balcony.
The twins were identical and had even the same height as if lifted from the same mold. They were even dressed the same.
James reassured them gently. "You don’t have to do anything for me. Don't worry. I'll keep you two safe while I'm here."
“Okay.”
The two nodded simultaneously and bowed gratefully. “Thank you."
James sighed in relief and walked back into the room.
The twins followed after him.
James sat on the sofa while the twins sat opposite him.
"Sir, my name is Aphrodite, and this is my younger sister, Venus."
"Mhm." James nodded absentmindedly.
Having not slept for the past few days, James was exhausted. He spoke to the sisters, "You two can just stay in the room, but
don’t move around unnecessarily. I’m a little sleepy, so I'll be resting for a while."
Aphrodite and Venus looked at each other and nodded in reply to James.
James walked to the bed and lay down.
Aphrodite and Venus sat quietly on the sofa, afraid to disturb James’ rest.
Soon, James fell asleep.
When he woke up, it was already nighttime. He got out of bed and rubbed his temples.
Before he could do anything, one of the twins walked toward him with a basin of water and a towel to freshen up. Then, she
helped freshen James up.
James did not push her away and allowed her to help.
After washing up, one of the twins said, "Sir, Lucjan has asked for you to head downstairs for dinner after waking up. A
sumptuous dinner has been prepared for you.”
“Alright, got it." James nodded lightly.
He got up and walked outside the room, heading downstairs to the living room.
As soon as he arrived in the first-floor living room, Lucjan asked with a smile, "How was it, James? Are you satisfied with their
service?"
James glanced at Aphrodite and Venus, who was following behind him, and nodded, saying, "Mhm, yes. They're first-class
indeed."
"Great! Come, sit with me."
Lucjan urged James to sit down.
James walked over and sat down where he had indicated.
Aphrodite and Venus followed him and sat on either side of him again. They entwined their arms around his and nuzzled into the
sides of his chest.
James could smell the scent of their perfumes and felt slightly refreshed. He was worried that Lucjan would make things difficult
for the twins, so he did not refuse their touch.
Looking at Lucjan sitting opposite him, James asked, "What kind of poison did you give me? Why don't I feel any discomfort
yet?"
Lucjan said, “Weren't you listening? I told you it’s a unique poison formulated by the Owens. The poison doesn't take effect so
soon. It'll take some time before it takes hold. However, once it does, it'll torment you until you feel like only the sweet release of
death can save you. As long as you cooperate with me, I promise you'll be fine.”
James asked calmly, ‘Then, tell me. What do you need me to do next?"
"Haven't I already told you about it? I need you to ambush the strongest practitioners of the major sects and families as they're
traveling to Mt. Thunder. Kill those you can and cripple those you can't kill."
"You think too highly of me. There are countless ancient martial art secs and families in Sol. I don't have the capabilities to take
on all of them."
Lucjan looked at James and raised his hands in a grand gesture. ‘You do, James! You have great potential. To be able to
achieve such great strength before 30 is already an incredible feat. For hundreds of years, the only person comparable to you
would be Callan. He became a seventh-rank grandmaster in his 40s. You'll surely surpass him in due time."
