The Almighty Dragon General

Chapter 1799
In his room, James contemplated ways that would allow him to cross into the ninth rank. At that moment, he wanted to seek
those who had crossed into the ninth rank for assistance-Sky, the Prince of Orchid Mountain, the Omniscient Deity, and even his
grandfather. Thomas had made a breakthrough and had become a Half-Saint
Soon, Thea walked in.
“Darling.”
She spoke in a gentle and melodious tone.
James collected himself and looked at Thea with a smile. “Hey, there.”
Thea sat beside him. “The baby’s due soon.”
“I know.”
James nodded and grabbed Thea’s hand, saying, “I promise to always be by your side. Until the baby is born, I won’t be going
anywhere. After living here for three years, I’ve grown attached to this carefree and peaceful life.”
Though this was what James said, Thea knew he wanted to leave to the outside world.
“Mhm.”
She did not say anything more.
That day, James remained at home. In the courtyard, he repeatedly swung his wooden sword. Though his movements were slow
and his technique ordinary, the moves actually contained a trace of skillfulness.
In the evening, a group of unwelcome guests appeared in the village.
James and Thea were standing by the gates of the courtyard, watching them.
These people were carrying a stretcher. On the stretcher was an elderly man whose face was pale.
Thump!

A middle-aged man in the lead knelt
“Wh-What are you doing?”
Taken aback, James staggered backward.
“I’m a Hansel. My father’s life is hanging by a thread after being injured by someone this morning. Please,
I beg you to save his life,” the man pleaded.
Upon hearing this, James looked at the man and said, “Please return. The day I retreated into the
mountains, I swore I’d never interfere in the affairs of the ancient martial world.”
James had made a vow on the day he renounced his sword. From that day onward, he swore never to intervene in the affairs of
the ancient martial world.
“Mr. Caden, are you really going to sit idly by while my father dies?”
“Please save him, Mr. Caden! I’m willing to give you everything the Hansels have.”
The Hansels begged.
“Wait”
Suddenly, James thought of something and asked, “No one’s supposed to know where I reside. How did you people find me?”
James was puzzled.
He had never left this place once over the past three years. Only Callan knew where he was. So, how did the Hansels manage
to find him?
The Hansels said, “M-Maxine, Master of Floret Palace, was the one who injured the head of the Hansels. She was the one who
directed us here. She said that you’re the only one who can save his life.”
“Maxine? Maxine Caden?”
James froze, and so did Thea.

Looking at James, she asked, “Floret Palace? Maxine? What does she have to do with anything?”
James spoke in a low voice, “It’s a long story. I’ll tell you more about the events that have unfolded in the ancient martial world
over the past three years later.”
At that moment, Callan walked in while smoking his cigar Upon seeing the crowd, he chuckled. “Quite a crowd we have here
today, huh?”
“You came at just the right time. There’s someone here who needs your help.”
After narrating what happened to Callan, James grabbed Thea into the house and slammed the door shut.
Outside the courtyard, Callan looked at Favion, whose life was hanging by a thread, and asked, “What happened?”
