“Is James going to give it another try?”
“I wonder if that earthling can pass the third barrier.”
Many had gathered by the third barrier after failing to pass. They all wondered if James could accomplish what they could not.
James emptied his mind and removed all impurities before taking a step forward. At the same time, he discharged Psynergy that
sensed his surroundings, and every movement of the golems surfaced in his mind. He could clearly see the trajectory of their
attacks, thereby allowing him to dodge in advance.
As he dodged agilely, he pressed onward.
Soon, he was at the 200-meter mark.
However, the golems’ attack speed accelerated. Even though James could sense their incoming attacks, he could not dodge
them in time.
His shoulder was struck, sending excruciating pain throughout his body. Meanwhile, he was showing signs of falling over. After
being struck once, James suffered many more injuries from the golems.
As blood trickled down from his lips, he silently murmured, “Calm down, James.”
Immediately, he catalyzed Ataraxia, and his mind began to clear.
However, it was no use. He could not dodge the golems’ attack in time. Their speed was extraordinary, and their force great.
Even though he possessed impressive rejuvenating abilities, he only managed to proceed for another fifty meters before
conceding defeat.
He hurriedly retreated to his starting point. Wiping the blood trace off his lips, he looked at Marcello dejectedly and said, “I failed
again. I think you should go on without me. The Son of Heaven has already left for three days. You might not be able to catch up
if you linger around here any longer.”
Marcello bit his lips. He truly wanted to help James out.

However, it appeared that James would not be able to gain insight into the techniques he imparted to him in a short amount of
time. It was not James’ fault. In fact, it was impressive enough that he managed to accomplish this much in just a few days.
“Alright, then I’ll be taking my leave. But don’t be dismayed. This Celestial Abode has nine barriers, with each more difficult than
the one before. In my opinion, it might take years for any of us to reach the end. So, cultivate well, James.”
“Mhm.” James nodded.
Leaving that remark, Marcello swiftly left.
Upon seeing Marcello pass through the third barrier, the crowd was dumbfounded. Many tried with all their strength and barely
made it. Now, Marcello managed to pass the third barrier just like that.
It stunned everyone.
“Who is he?”
“He’s so powerful... He managed to pass the barrier so easily.”
“He seems to be well-acquainted with James.”
Many conversed as they glanced at James.
James, however, paid no heed to them. He stood before the golem formation and contemplated how best to proceed.
Though passing the golem formation was nigh impossible, the Celestial Abode was simply too enticing.
“Marcello said it might take years for anyone to pass all nine barriers. I might still have a chance,” he murmured.
Then, he sat in a lotus position on the ground and meditated, contemplating and sensing everything Marcello had taught him.
‘Conditioned reflex?’
Marcello said that it would allow the body to acquire conditioned reflexes. He would be able to pass the barrier easily that way.
However, accomplishing it was hard.
After thinking for a moment, James settled for a simple plan. He would challenge the barrier repeatedly despite the injuries he
may suffer. After all, he had cultivated the Novenary Golden Body Siddhi, and the golem formation was the perfect spot to train

his physical body.
James believed that his body would eventually learn to acquire the conditioned reflex ability sooner or later after being
pummelled as many times as needed.
