In the ancient passageway, James could see a few people in front of him, advancing at a modest speed. When James entered
the passageway, he realized that the spatial pressure in this area was much greater than the previous ones. He would proceed
at a snail’s pace if he did. not catalyze True Energy.
“This place is the perfect place to train my physical body. At least it’s much more convenient than having to wear a set of armor,”
James murmured.
Soon, he arrived at the city gate.
Many people were gathered there, including the Son of Heaven and Marcello. Besides, there were also some other familiar
faces-Xain, Samarth, Yandel, Wynter, and a few others whom James did not recognize. 1
Marcello was staring at the city gate when he suddenly turned. Upon seeing James, he walked over to him and smiled
delightedly, “James, did you manage to pass the first five barriers?”
Marcello was stunned.
He knew how hard the previous barriers were. Putting aside the golem formation, the fourth barrier required raw strength, while
the fifth barrier targeted one’s soul.
James smiled and said, “Fortunately, I made it here in time. I thought you guys have already entered the city. What’s wrong?
Can’t find a way through?”
“Yes.”
Marcello nodded and said, “This is the sixth barrier. However, no one knows about the specifics. As the city gate is closed, no
one could enter the city.”
Hearing this, James glanced at the city gate.
“Can’t you just fly over the wall?”
Marcello shook his head and said, “That won’t work. We can’t fly here.”
“I see...”

James said as he scanned his surroundings. However, there were no clues around the place.
So, he cultivated while he waited. The Empyrean Spiritual Energy inside the Celestial Abode was simply abundant and many
times more than the outside world. Cultivating here would hasten one’s progress. Besides, since he possessed a mysterious
body and cultivation method, he was able to absorb Empyrean Spiritual Energy at a much faster rate.
Soon, two weeks passed.
Throughout the past two weeks, more and more people arrived at the city gate.

Just as everyone was getting impatient, the shadow appeared.
“You’re finally here!” Excited, the Son of Heaven hastily made his way over to him and
greeted him respectfully, asking, “We have waited outside the city gate for a very long time. What is the sixth barrier all about?”
The others looked at the shadow.
The shadow spoke, “I never expected there would be so many of you to pass the barriers. I anticipated three, but forty of you
showed up.”
Everyone listened intently.
“The rules are simple for the sixth barrier. You’ll be pitted against each other in one-on-one combat. You’ll pass the barrier once
you emerge victorious,” the shadow continued.
Upon hearing this, everyone looked at one another.
The Son of Heaven furrowed his eyebrows and asked, “But who will determine our opponents?”
Though he was confident in his own strength, he was intimidated by Marcello. As long as he was not pitted against Marcello, he
would be able to come out on top without a doubt.
The shadow looked at the crowd and snickered. “Naturally, that would be me.”

James looked at the shadow and awaited its decision. As long as he was not pitted against Marcello or the Son of Heaven, the
likelihood of him winning was high.
“You’ll fight him.”
The shadow pointed at James before pointing at the Son of Heaven.
James was dumbfounded.
