“The Demon Race went to great lengths to resurrect someone called Lucifer Menachem. Do you know who he is?”
The Welkin Academy’s headmaster stepped forward and said, “Tell us what you know, James. Justice and truth will prevail in the
end.”
“Understood, Headmaster.” James continued, “Lucifer Menachem is the only blood kin of the Demon Emperor in ancient times.
During that battle long ago, he foresaw his own death. So, he sealed away his descendant in Mount Walvern. Mount Walvern
has always reeked of Demonic Energy. Anyone who has been there before knows of this. The Demon Race’s Protector said that
he learned an ancient arcane art, but he required the blood of many distinguished cultivators to undo the seal left behind by the
Demon Emperor.
“I have no idea why the Grand Tournament was held at Mount Walvern. Someone must have arranged for this. I also feel that
someone must have come to an agreement with the Demon Race to resurrect Lucifer Menachem. After learning that many
cultivators had been captured, I used my Demonic Body to infiltrate the Demon Race camp. There, I saw them slaughtering the
cultivators and extracting their blood with my own eyes.
“Though I could simply turn a blind eye to this, I couldn’t sit by the sidelines as innocent people lost their lives. At the pivotal
moment, I stepped forward and presented my token, putting an end to the senseless slaughter. I used my Demonic Energy to
release the seal and resurrect Lucifer to save everyone. Only then did the Demon Race retreat. However, to prevent my identity
from being exposed, I only returned to save the cultivators after a day passed.”
James narrated the whole truth.
“This is the whole truth. Though I have a Demonic Body, I am not a member of the Demon Race. I could simply command every
member of the Demon Race in the Ancient Realm with my token alone, yet I didn’t do such a thing.
“I am a human. Every moment of my existence, I live to protect humans. Back then at the Ancient Clan, all of you would have
perished if I hadn’t risked my life. As for the reason why Mount Walvern was selected as the Grand Tournament’s location, I’m
afraid the Divinity Sect’s Patriarch owes us an explanation.”
James pointed at the Divine Holy Emperor, who had already taken his seat.

think anyone’s going to believe what I have to say. In that case, I’d rather admit to my deeds.”
He stood up.
“That’s right. It was me.
“I cooperated with Marquis Tenzin to resurrect Lucifer in exchange for the Demon Race’s supreme cultivation method.”
Hearing this, the crowd was stunned. Many brandished their swords immediately.
