James stayed in Wrymstead for the time being.
The stay lasted three days.
During these three days, he spent all his time with Thea. However, Thea was dispirited, as if something was bothering her. Yet,
when James asked, she said that there was nothing.
“Honey.”
In a room in a courtyard behind Wyrmstead Palace, Thea was snuggled up in James’ arms. She said, “You’ve been back for a
few days now. It seems that you still have some friends at Mount Bane. Go meet them while Earth is still peaceful.”
“Okay.” James nodded.
Some of his friends were indeed at Mount Bane. He had spent these few days in Wyrmstead and had not gone to Mount Bane.
“Go ahead and come back soon.” She pushed James outside the house.
“Alright.” James nodded.
He then left Wyrmstead and made his way to Sol’s Mount Bane.
The moment he left, the smile on Thea’s face froze.
She did not linger in the room and quickly left for a courtyard in the palace.
It was Quincy’s residence.
Thea pushed open the gate and walked inside. Many flowering plants were planted in the courtyard. Quincy was holding a pair of
huge scissors and trimming the plants.
“I had no idea you had such an elegant pastime.”
Thea walked over and said with a smile.
Quincy promptly put down the scissors, walked out of the garden, and said with a smile, “I’m free now. Take a seat.”
She invited Thea to take a seat in the courtyard’s pagoda and asked with a smile, “Have you come to see me for something?”
“Yes, indeed,” said Thea.
After saying that, she could not help but sigh.
Quincy sensed that something was wrong and asked, “What’s the matter? Is there something bothering you?”
Thea asked, “You know what happened when James and I traveled to the Boundless Realm, right?”
Quincy nodded and said, “Mhm. I know. James told us.”
“Then did he tell you that there are four Ancestral God Rank Elixirs, and we’re still one short?”
“Yes,” said Quincy, “But it’s nothing to worry about. There are numerous powerful figures on Earth and in the Boundless Realm.
As long as the Ancestral God Rank Elixir exists, it will be found.”
“The truth is, I am the last Ancestral God Rank Elixir,” said Thea.
“Huh?”
Quincy exclaimed in surprise and could not help but stand up. She stared at Thea with a face that was filled with incredulity and
asked, “What did you say? You are the last Ancestral God Rank Elixir?”
“Mhm.” Thea nodded softly.
“How did that happen?” Quincy sat down and asked as she looked at her.
Thea shook her head and said, “I don’t know how it happened either. It’s just that the Lord of the Human Realm, Xandros, told
me that during the Primeval Age, when the human Ancestral Gods were making the Ancestral God Rank Elixir, they added a
strand of my soul, and I am formed from that strand.
“Only by sacrificing myself will the Ancestral God Rank Elixir be fully activated and possess its true power.”
As Thea said that, she could not help but weep.
She was not afraid of death. She just could not bear to part with James.
“Haha.” She laughed. “I should feel quite content, actually.”
