James’ brows furrowed a little as he scanned his surroundings.
“This is Mount Boundless’ holy site. It’s an illusory projection created for your trial. I’m unable to interfere or heal your injuries. I
wish you the best of luck getting out of this cave before your injuries worsen and you die. Your Paths have been erased, and
you’re already on the brink of death. If you die, there’s no one to blame except yourself.”
After saying a few words, the voice completely disappeared.
The Boundless Master sat on a rock in the distance.
Saewald stood beside him and inquired, “Master, since he’s also a human, why don’t you just treat his injuries and allow him to
leave the illusion?”
Hearing this, the Boundless Master’s face darkened.
“I’m afraid I can’t do that.”
Puzzled, Saewald asked, “Why not?”
“Everything is up to fate’s design. Whether he successfully leaves the illusion alive will depend on his capability.”
After responding to the question, the Boundless Master fell silent.
Meanwhile, James glanced around the unfamiliar cave. He spotted an exit and walked over to it after some hesitation.
When he arrived at the exit, he was impeded by a powerful force and was flung away. His injuries worsened, and he fell headfirst
to the ground. He was unable to immediately get back up.
“It’s futile.”
The black-robed man stood up, walked over, and reached out to help James back to his feet.
James took his hand and accepted his help.
The man pulled him up and asked, “So, you’re from the future, huh?”
James wiped the blood from his lips, clasped his fists, and replied, “Yeah. My name is James Caden. Who you might be?”
The man looked at James, shook his head lightly, and said,” You’ve got some terrible luck since you ran into that guy.”
From these words, James could tell the black-robed man knew Wynton.
James felt incredibly troubled. He was going through the Path of Heavenly Awakening’s trials, and the beings
involved in it were powerhouses capable of seeing through the illusion.
‘The Yaneiri King is an outstanding cultivator and has never lost a fight. No one in the same cultivation rank as him
could defeat him. I consider myself a talented cultivator, yet I still lost to him. After my defeat, I’ve imprisoned myself within this
holy site.”
James immediately realized the identity of the black-robed man.
“Are you possibly the Blithe Master?”
“I’m not worthy of such an honorable title. My name is Yardos Xagorari.”
James stared at Yardos.
“You’re at the peak of the Terra Acme Rank?”
James could discern Yardos’ cultivation rank.
‘That’s right.”
Yardos sighed and said, “Although I’m at the Terra Acme Rank, I’ll lose to the Yaneiri King if he reaches this rank and travels
through the River of Time for a rematch.”
Yardos was sure he could not beat Wynton. Even though he was at the peak of the Terra Acme Rank, he believed
Wynton would undoubtedly defeat him if they stood at the same rank.
James had experienced how strong Wynton was.
During his previous fight against Wynton, he only managed to force Wynton to create a Sword World and use the Path
Obliterating Sword Art. Besides these two techniques, James was unaware of his other Supernatural Powers.
James sighed deeply and said, “He’s indeed terrifyingly strong. Although we’re in the same rank, he easily overpowered me.”
