“Kill them!” Xayvion ordered.
The masked men unsheathed their swords almost simultaneously at Xayvion’s command.
“Do you really think you have what it takes to kill US?”
Hershya’s expression hardened. She leaped into the air and released an overpowering amount of aura. As she spun in mid-air,
countless swords materialized from her auras.
Suddenly, those swords shot toward the masked men gathered around James and Hershya.
As each of those men was struck by a sword, an immense amount of sword energy exploded in their bodies. Those men were
instantly annihilated.
It only took one hit from Hershya to exterminate those men.
Just then, a huge cloud of black aura rose from where those masked men were standing. That black aura drifted and gathered in
a spot further away to form those masked men again.
“Huh?”
Hershya widened her eyes as she witnessed what had happened.
“Hahaha!” Xayvion threw his head back and laughed hysterically.
James knitted his brows.
“This is it for you, James Caden.” Xayvion walked toward him. He lifted his palm and conjured numerous inscriptions. Those
inscriptions fused and formed a black sword.
“Stay behind me, Master. I’ll take care of him.” Hershya produced a sword as well.
‘Til handle him. He and I come from the same era. If you fight him, you will incur karma.”
James continued, “You should try and stop this army of monsters while I fight him.” Hershya had a look of concern in her eyes.
James had only reached the peak of the Quasi Transcendental Bliss Rank, whereas Xayvion was already on the fifth stage of
the Transcendental Bliss Rank.
Hershya did not think that James would be able to hold up against Xayvion’s attacks.
At that moment, the masked men rushed toward James and Hershya. Hershya quickly lifted her sword and darted toward that
group of cultivators.
Those masked men managed to surround Hershya once more and formed a formation around her. Even a competent cultivator
like Hershya was temporarily held down by the formation.
Meanwhile, Xayvion had reached where James was standing. He placed the tip of his sword against James’ chest.
“What’s the matter? Are you not going to fight?”
Xayvion stared at James’ face and smiled contemptuously.
“I should thank you for making me run all the way here back in this era.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gotten all these great opportunities to improve my skills and powers. Since we are both from the
same era, I’ll allow you the chance to be reincarnated.” “Do you think you can kill me now just because you’ve entered the fifth
stage of Transcendental Bliss Rank?” James said calmly despite having a sword pointed over his heart.
“Then, can I ask you something before you kill me?”
James tried to lower Xayvion’s guard. He wanted to find out more information about the strange star and shadow.
He knew instinctively that Xayvion’s seemingly indestructible helpers and the improvement in his cultivation rank must be
somewhat connected to the mysterious star and shadow.
“You can figure that out in your next life.”
Xayvion tightened his grip over the sword handle and pushed the sword tip toward James’ chest.
With how close they were facing each other, there was no way James could dodge Xayvion’s attack.
Nonetheless, James vanished from the spot the moment Xayvion moved.
