The gigantic purplish-black lotus carried Thea and shot toward James. However, the lotus bounced off slightly as it came into proximity to the malevolent energy. Simultaneously, an ominous, blinding light radiated from James, who was
enveloped in the purplish-red malevolent energy. It dyed the purplish-blue space around them in an eerie shade of purplish-red.
Gusty winds whistled. Tremors could be felt in the space around them.
The impatient Corey had a look of horror on his face as he witnessed the apocalyptic scene before him.
Meanwhile, his captives, Yegor and Herodias, had stopped screaming.
It was not solely because the powers of the sword formation acting on them had been abruptly cut off. Apart from that, the couple were also stunned and terrified by the sight before them.
"He chose to do this to save us... That silly child," Yegor sighed and said in a shaky voice.
"No... No!" Herodias held her head between her hands.
"You can't let him control you, James. What would we do with you if that happens?"
Unfortunately, James could not hear their voices at all. The purplish-red malevolent energy surrounding him was still increasing rapidly in its intensity and potency.
It struck terror in all living beings near it.
The arrogant Corey was finally gripped by a sense of panic.
"Mor-Morgott! Morgott is being resurrected! How dare you, James Caden-"
Before Corey could finish, an overwhelming pressure washed over him. It trapped Corey right where he stood. The pressure was so immense that Corey could hardly breathe.
"Corey Damien, you made me do this," James' voice reverberated through the space, "It's time I end this and send you to the afterlife."
The malevolent energy around James shifted and transformed into a blast of purplish-red sword energy. It shot through the air, heading in Corey's direction. "No.!" Corey's eyes bulged in fright. He shouted frantically.
There were sounds of a sharp object cutting through flesh, followed by a metallic whir.
In a flash, the purplish-red sword energy had sliced through Corey's Ultimate Golden Body.
Massive amounts of purplish-blue gas came out of the bloody gap made in the center of Corey's body and escaped swiftly to the surroundings.
"James Caden! You...! You've opened the gates to horrible calamities! You will regret this! You'll be completely devoured by him." Blood sprayed out of Corey's mouth. His body swayed a little.
Corey still could not move a muscle. Yet, there was a look of horror in his eyes. Meanwhile, the sword formation trapping Yegor and Herodias began to fall apart. The Triumphant Sword fell from the sky and stabbed into the earth below. Yegor and Herodias quickly teleported and reappeared at a far corner.
On the other hand, the ball of purplish-red sword energy made a swerve in the air and flew toward Corey again.
"No. James, I was wrong!" Corey screamed anxiously. He could tell the next blow would end him.
As the sword energy hit him, Corey's Ultimate Golden Body shattered almost instantly. His entire body was practically vaporized.
"A soul of the Daeclon Rank! That's good stuff!" A strange, eerie voice came from the purplish-red sword energy. Then, the sword energy rushed toward the huge
soul energy ball floating amid the shattered body pieces.
Just as it got close to the energy ball, a short, colorful human-like figure leaped out of the sword energy and snatched the soul away.
"Frona, that's not fair!" the sword energy yelled at it.
The colorful figure clicked its tongue. Then, it transformed into a beam of light
and returned to the purplish-red sword energy.
"Ugh!" There was a mysterious whirring as the sword energy grumbled in
dissatisfaction.
Then, it turned to face Yegor and Herodias. "Devouring two cultivators of the Tirta Power is not a bad alternative."
