The Almighty Dragon General

Chapter 7176
The sight of how close the light sword was positioned next to his neck made Dorvus' blood run cold.
He shouted anxiously, "Commander, I would never dare harm your messenger!" Dorvus pointed to Harper. "She... She didn't clarify what she was doing, and she didn't show US anything that could prove to US she was your messenger! "That was why I thought she chose to work with Xalvador and betrayed US." A small frown creased James' forehead.
Meanwhile, Harper had rushed over and hissed at Dorvus, "What a load of crap, Hosentia! The group of you attacked every person you encountered since you got here. Did you even allow me the chance to explain myself before attacking me?"
"What about just now?" Dorvus looked at her questioningly. "You were so set on killing yourself instead of explaining to US that you were his messenger..."
"As I've said, I know that my sweetheart won't let you guys off if anything bad happens to me." Harper cut him off.
Dorvus retorted, "If you had the time to make threats, you might as well show us the proof that you were following Sir Caden's orders! We wouldn't have treated you like that just now."
Harper snapped, "Why you..."
James lifted his hand to stop Harper from continuing. He turned his gaze toward Dorvus, who was clearly not convinced by Harper's explanation. "It
seems there are some misunderstandings between US."
"Yes, Commander! It was all a misunderstanding." Dorvus nodded vigorously. "I knew you were a fair and sensible man."
Harper was flustered. "My love, you..."
James silenced her with a sideways glance. Then, he put his hands on his back. "It seems I've been too hasty in blaming you, Mr. Hosentia."
Dorvus' eyes lit up. "It's alright, Commander. You've come to realize the truth now since you are a wise and sensible man. You are truly a model example to all of us!"
Dorvus went on and on, praising James to the skies.
"That's enough," James said impatiently. "Although there were some misunderstandings, you should have informed me nonetheless before you initiated the attack on the Terythor Universe.
"If I had the time to come up with a good plan, we would have been able to
reduce the number of casualties."
Dorvus let out a small sigh of relief and nodded. "You're absolutely right! It's my mistake for not thinking it through. Please forgive me, Sir Caden."
James reached his palm out unhurriedly.
Dorvus' brows arched. "Sir Caden, what do you..."
"Hand over the Marauder Token for now." James said, "I can't risk having you make the same mistakes again. We need to secure the north of the Daonus
Realm first and move on to our next plan."
Dorvus stammered, "This... This isn't..."
"Will you hand it over or not?" James' expression hardened.
Dorvus felt gripped by a sense of panic. The Marauder Token was the very tool needed to control the Marauder Army. Giving the token away meant giving up the
Marauder Army as well.
What could he do to stop James if the man actually had some hidden agenda? Moreover, how would Dorvus explain to Xanthakos if he were to lose the token? James emanated a murderous aura. It made Dorvus flinch. Without having enough time to consider, he quickly produced the Marauder Token and held it out toward James.
What mattered more to Dorvus at the moment was to stay alive. It would all be over for him if he were killed right there.
