Chapter 1062
The words “birth control pills” rang through the air, and a tension gripped Thalassa’s nerve. She turned to the door, her spoonful
of soup from Lysander still half-swallowed.
Amelia rushed in.
It was her who yelled just now.
Amelia strode into the hospital room, her eyes landing on Lysander sitting by the bed with a bowl of soup in hand and spoon
poised; it was obvious that he was feeding Thalassa.
Lysander, always so aloof and icy, who had never shown a scrap of warmth or paid anyone a second glance, was actually
spoon-feeding a woman!
Amelia was astonished by the sight, then a scornful chuckle escaped her lips. She glanced at Thalassa and remarked, “Do you
think you’re a three-year-old with a scraped knee, faking up the cutesy act to get spoon-fed?”
Thalassa’s cheeks were puffed out with the mouthful of soup, giving her a somewhat dazed and endearing look.
Thalassa’s breath grew heavy as she was stung by Amelia’s barb.
Swallowing the soup, she retorted, “I didn’t ask him to feed me; he wanted to.”
She instinctively turned to Lysander upon saying this, locking eyes with his deep, knowing gaze. But she paused, and her breath
tightened.
His innate aura of authority always managed to unsettle her heart.
“Oh please,” Amelia sneered, “You mean you don’t like Lysander and he’s the one clinging to you? Countless women had tried
every trick just to be Lysander’s girlfriend, and he’d dismissed them without a second thought. Do you really think he’d cling to a
country bumpkin like you? Take a good look in the mirror and weigh your own worth!”
Amelia had always loathed Thalassa back when Leopold was alive. She blamed her for Leopold’s struggle in the past five years.
It was Thalassa who Leopold worked tirelessly to win back. He built up his career just so he might stand a chance with her.
For five years, Leopold had clung to the hope of being with Thalassa, his determination. fueling his every move.
And what had his efforts led to?
Thalassa ended
up
with Lysander, and they had four kids together!
This was a fatal blow to Leopold. Amelia was convinced that Leopold’s demise wasn’t only due to the explosion; it was also the
despair at losing Thalassa that drove him to his end.
So, Thalassa was indirectly responsible for his death.
Amelia hated Thalassa utterly and was itching to destroy her. However, with Lysander’s protection, Amelia never had a chance
to act on her malicious desires.
At the last Sinclair family gala, Amelia had conspired with Charlotte to frame Thalassa for stealing the Sinclair heirloom bracelet.
They had hoped that the public scrutiny would force Lysander to abandon Thalassa and send her to jail.
But their plan had failed.
Now, Amelia’s hatred for Thalassa deepened with every encounter. She was enraged every time she saw Thalassa.
Amelia’s words pierced Thalassa’s already scarred heart. She was acutely aware of her
humble background, far from the grandeur of the Sinclair dynasty, and how she was no match for Lysander.
