Chapter 1212
Bruce was relentless, his eyes blazing with fury as he demanded confirmation once again, “Are you sure you didn’t touch my
phone or laptop?”
“I, Lucy, have always been upright and honest. If I did something, I’d own up to it. I refuse to take the fall for something I didn’t
do!”
Bruce glowered at her for a moment, then released her collar with a forceful push, his jaw clenched tight, his expression dark
and menacing.
So, the video hadn’t been deleted by Lucy. That meant she didn’t know about his fling with Evelyn, let alone the existence of any
incriminating footage.
But how had the video on his phone vanished into thin air?
Bruce’s mind raced to Thalassa’s recent change in demeanor. She was no longer the pushover she used to be, responding to
him with defiance instead of compliance, even going so far as to threaten him!
Could it be Thalassa who had deleted the video?
She was craftier than he had given her credit for, managing to erase the files on his phone and computer without any trace.
Was Thalassa trying to slip from his grasp, to free herself from his threats? If so, she was playing a child’s game. He wouldn’t be
outplayed that easily!
“What’s so damn important about your phone and laptop? Are you cheating on me again with some other woman?” Lucy
snapped back to reality, shoving Bruce with a force that belied her rage.
Bruce stumbled backwards, then glared at her with a dangerous intensity, “You better watch your tone. If you keep pushing me,
I’ll push back hard!”
“What, you want to hit me now?” Lucy gasped in disbelief.
Bruce’s behavior was different today. All his pretense had fallen away, revealing someone brutal, ruthless, and seemingly
capable of murder.

Lucy couldn’t accept this version of Bruce. She tried to suppress his dangerous aura with her own fierceness and bravado.
“Quiet down!” Bruce bellowed, his anger boiling over as he raised his fist to strike.
Lucy saw his clenched fist, ready to unleash all its force upon her. She was dumbstruck, frozen in shock.
“That’s enough!” An anguished cry came from Susan at the top of the stairs.
Bruce’s fist stopped mere inches from Lucy’s cheek. He turned to see Susan, whose face

was streaked with tears, storming towards them.
Bruce lowered his fist.
Susan approached and cast a resentful glance at Lucy before turning her wrath on Bruce.
“You two have been at each other’s throats for decades! If you’re so miserable, just get a divorce! I’m sick to death of it!”
Lucy didn’t want a divorce. Her resolve weakened, and she reached out for Susan’s arm, “Susan, I...”
“Shut up!” Susan snapped, her voice raw with emotion. “You’ve been complaining about his affairs every day, yet you won’t leave
him! What are you trying to prove? He’s always been this way. If you won’t divorce him, then turn a blind eye. If you can’t stand
him, then set yourself and everyone else free with a divorce!”
Lucy was stunned into silence by Susan’s outburst. All these years of wits and warfare with Bruce had taken their toll. The sad
truth was she loved him too much. Even though he had hurt her time and again, she couldn’t let go.
“Susan, you should stay out of this matter. It’s between the two of us,” Bruce said, trying to regain some control.
“And you!” Susan rounded on Bruce, her fury unabated. “You talk about doing great things but you’re too spineless to follow
through! You had leverage and you lost it! You said you could help me win over Lysander. How can you help me when you can’t
even help yourself? I’m fed up with your incompetence and cowardice!”
