The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 1247
“You! You’re such a bastard!” Angelina fumed, releasing his ear and giving the back of his head a smack – a gesture that brought
back memories of how she would chide him during his childhood
Remington Falconer and Beatrice had just returned from a leisurely stroll outside when they overheard the heated exchange
between Angelina and Alaric.
Grasping the gravity of the situation from their conversation, Remington let go of Beatrice’s hand in a huff. Leaning heavily on his
cane, he shuffled over to Alaric with a shaky resolve and began to thwack him with it.
“You shameless cad! Didn’t you swear that Hertha was the only one for you, that you would marry no other? You seduce the
poor girl, ruin her reputation, and then you have the gall to go after Georgia! Who was it that claimed to detest Georgia and was
so adamant about calling off the engagement?”
As Remington berated Alaric, he continued to land blows with his cane.
Alaric raised his hands defensively, trying to protect himself from the hits, but he didn’t utter a word in his own defense.
Angelina grew anxious, “Dad, Dad, please stop, cool down.”
She rushed to Remington’s side, gently took the cane from his grasp and made sure he was supported.
“Cough, cough...” Remington was so worked up that he began to cough and wheeze, gasping for air as he addressed Alaric, “I
had five hundred million set aside for you, and now you’ve gone and slept with the girl. How am I supposed to face them and call
off the engagement now, huh?”

Remington was bitterly disappointed. He thought he had not been mistaken last time, believing that Alaric truly had feelings for
Hertha and was turning over a new leaf.
He had gone to great lengths to prepare for Alaric’s wedding, only for the young man to declare his intent to break off the
engagement with Georgia.
How could they possibly call off the wedding now?
Alarie’s usually carefree demeanor was gone. He sat solemnly, his mood low.
What happened the previous night plagued him. Both he and Hertha had been drunk, and he hadn’t expected Georgia to enter
their room
He remembered being intimate with a woman, fully believing it was Hertha.
Yet, when morning came, it was Georgia lying beside him.
Besides, witnessing the tender moment between Spencer and Hertha in the park this
morning only added to his unrest and pain, feelings that had yet to subside.
Facing his grandfather’s accusations and scolding, he felt powerless to retaliate.
“What are you going to do now?” demanded Remington, pointing his cane at Alaric with fierce anger.
“What else is there to do but marry Georgia? They’re already betrothed, after all,” Angelinal stated resolutely.
“And what about Hertha?” asked Beatrice.
Though Hertha hadn’t said goodbye when she left, both Beatrice and Remington felt that as long as she and Alaric were
together, that was what mattered.
At Beatrice’s question, Alaric’s head shot up, his eyes flashing with a mix of gratitude and agitation as he looked to Beatrice,
relieved that someone remembered the bond he shared
with Hertha.

“Hertha is just like the other girls Alaric’s been with, all flings and not to be relied upon. Otherwise, why would Alaric keep coming
home alone these past few days, not bringing her home for dinner?” Angelina spoke for Alaric.
Alaric shot Angelina a look of disdain, but the fact that Hertha had taken two hundred thousand and was involved with another
man was undeniable.
Even if he wanted to counter Angelina’s words, he couldn’t find the grounds to do so.
When Beatrice heard Angelina’s statement and saw Alaric’s silent consent – his lack of objection tantamount to an admission –
she sighed in disappointment.

“Ah well, let it be, then. You have to sort it out yourselves. We can’t manage it for you anymore.”
