Chapter 1257
Thalassa crept into the kitchen and whipped up a quick dinner. After making sure her
mother was fed and comfortably tucked into bed for the night, she retreated to her room and dialed Ethan’s number.
“Mr. Ethan, I need to ask for an extended leave of absence,” she said when the call connected.
“A long leave? Why? Is it because of what happened today at the client’s office? Are you scared? It’s all good now; we’ve dealt
with it,” Ethan reassured her. He had heard about the incident at the photo shoot.
Susan had been injured and hospitalized, which meant the ad campaign they were working on had to be postponed.
Since Lysander had escorted Thalassa away from the scene, it was clear to Ethan that Lysander didn’t blame her for the mishap.
“It’s not that. I just need to rest for a bit and clear my mind. Please, Mr. Ethan, just say yes,” Thalassa pleaded earnestly.
Understanding that she wished to travel, not out of fear or distress from the day’s events, Ethan’s tone softened. “Alright, if it’s for
a bit of fun, I’ll grant you the leave. If you’re worried about the incident, though, there’s no need to back down or fear any
repercussions from the company. The doors of Crawley Group are always open to you.”
Thalassa’s eyes welled up with gratitude at Ethan’s words.
Even Ethan, who wasn’t particularly close to her, trusted her implicitly. But Lysander, the man who shared her bed every day,
doubted her. The bitterness and hurt she felt were likely due to this stark contrast and sense of abandonment.
After hanging up with Ethan, Thalassa had intended to sleep but then thought it necessary to tell Lysander about her travel
plans.
His lack of trust was his issue, but whether to tell him about her trip was another matter.
If she were to leave Starhaven without a word, he would probably be furious.
She opened the contacts on her phone, found Lysander’s name. As she was about to dial, the sting of his words in the car earlier
pricked at her heart.
Rart of her didn’t want to call him out of spite.
But reason prevailed over impulse, and she pressed his name, dialing his number.
Instantly, a cold, impersonal voice came from the other end, “Sorry, the number you have dialed is switched off.”
Switched off?

Chapter 1257
She hit the end call button but continued to stare at Lysander’s name on the screen.
It was rare for Lysander’s phone to be off. As the president of the Sinclair Group, he was always on call for his busy and
widespread business.
And now, following the day’s unfortunate events, he had switched off his phone.
Thalassa couldn’t help but think he did it deliberately to avoid her.
Forget it. If he’s switched off his phone, there’s no point in telling him. She’d just take her mother and go on that trip, no matter
what he might think.
Lying back on her bed, Thalassa started browsing through travel destinations, deciding where she would travel to with her
mother.
