Chapter 1304
Inside the Sinclair manor, the atmosphere was dense with tension. Zephyr's gaze
was sharp as a hawks, locking onto Lysander who was seated across from him.
“I told you before, give it three months to see Thalassa’s true colors, and you'd
cut ties with her. What's it been now? Six months?”
Zephyr's stern look bore down on Lysander, his tone accusatory and laden with
disappointment.
Lysander was dressed in a bespoke black suit, meeting Zephyr's piercing gaze
with his own, which were deep and dark as a midnight sky.
“She’s not the kind of person you think.”
[i
“Really?” Zephyr let out a bitter chuckle, as if he'd just heard the world’s biggest
joke. His face hardened, and a hollow laugh escaped his throat.
“Not that kind of person? She ousted Faye Brennan and conveniently moved into
your home, not to mention she’s Bruce's daughter. The apple doesn't fall far from
the tree, you
know?”
Zephyrs eyes, turbid with anger, trembled slightly.
He knew all too well that Bruce was the homewrecker from the past, the man
because of whom Belinda had abandoned everything to elope, ultimately leading
both herself and Barnett Sinclair to a tragic car accident.
Zephyr's hatred for Bruce was just as intense as Lysander’s.
However, being a man with a military background, Zephyr wouldn't seek personal
vengeance.
Bruce's wrongdoings were condemnable on a moral level, but there was no
direct link to Belinda and Barnett's death.
Even if Zephyr wanted to put Bruce behind bars, he had no legal grounds.
But that didn’t mean Zephyr didn’t harbor resentment.
“Faye was fired for her own misdeeds. She bribed our staff and her actions
inadvertently led to Grandma's passing. Those are the undeniable facts.
Grandpa, you can't just pin all
the blame on Thalassa.”
Lysander spoke with a calm composure, his intelligence shining through as he
patiently explained the sequence of events to Zephyr.
“Don't start talking about your grandmother...” Zephyr clutched his chest, pained
at the mention of his wife. His heart ached as if ants were gnawing at it.

His beloved, the woman who had been by his side for a lifetime, Sybil, had not
passed away from natural causes, but due to the indirect actions of someone
with malicious
intent.
Whenever he thought of Sybil, Zephyr felt a pain so deep he could hardly
breathe.
He always blamed himself for failing to protect her.

Zephyr pushed his hand away, clearly disappointed at him, not wanting his
concern.
As his hand was brushed aside, Lysander’s brows furrowed slightly, and his eyes
filled with shards of sorrow, like stars dimmed by grief.

It was a piece painted by Sybil.
Whenever Zephyr looked at that painting, he was submerged in his memories of
Sybil.
His heart was heavy with grief.
“Lysander, you're blinded to that woman's tricks,” Zephyr said, his eyes still on
the painting, but his words clearly meant for Lysander.
