Chapter 1307
At least Leopold's bloodline would continue if that's the case.
No sooner had Amelia posed her question than Zephyr and Lysander turned to
look at her
in unison.
In Zephyr's cloudy eyes, shock mingled with a flicker of hope.
Lysander’s gaze, however, was dark as a stormy sky and cold as ice. It was
laden with reproach toward Amelia.
“I've told you before, the child Thalassa is carrying is mine! It can't possibly be
anyone else's!” Lysander’s voice cut through the air, decisive and brooking no
argument.
“How can you be so sure it's yours? What if she was unfaithful with Leopold
behind your back? Then the child could be Leopold's,” Amelia retorted, clinging to
a sliver of hope.
“She hasn't been with him; I'm certain of it!” Lysander replied, his tone as cold as
steel.
“Lysander, maybe Amelia has a point. Shouldn't we have a paternity test just to
be sure?” Zephyr suggested, seeking Lysander’s consent with a tentative look.
“Nonsense!” Lysander snapped, rising in anger and storming out of the Sinclair
residence, his stance unequivocally clear.
Zephyr and Amelia exchanged glances as they watched Lysander’s retreating
figure, a frosty silhouette of indignation.
The hopeful light in Amelia's eyes was quickly doused by a wave of
disappointment.
And the weight of the world seemed to settle in Zephyr's aged, milky eyes.
The next day, Thalassa didn't go to work.
She had deliberately asked Ethan for the day off to spend time with Evelyn at
home.
In the afternoon, Thalassa took Evelyn to the preschool to pick up her kids.
It had been days since she'd seen her little ones, and she missed them dearly.
She brought Evelyn along, hoping the playful and cuddly nature of the children
would brighten her spirits.
Waiting at the preschool gate, they soon saw teachers leading out a line of
children, each as adorable as a button.
Before long, Thalassa spotted her four little children among the crowd.
She tugged at Evelyn's sleeve and exclaimed, “Mom, look! The kids are coming
out.”

“Then why aren't you smiling?”
Elowen’s bright eyes searched
Thalassa's face. She noticed her

before. Usually, Thalassa would greet
them with a beaming smile, but her
