Chapter 672
“Well, Elowen is your daughter?” Dylan exclaimed as he met Thalassa’s expectant gaze.
His head dropped bashfully; his full cheeks flushed a rosy hue as he shyly admitted, “Elowen is really cute...”
His face reddened even more at his own words, just as Elowen had observed, turning as red as an apple.
He was a timid boy, easily embarrassed. But he was exceptionally bright for his age.
As a small lad, he was now preparing for examination for going abroad.
Seeing his chubby appearance, he must be a little foodie just like Elowen.
Hearing him say that Elowen was cute, Thalassa, as a mother, was delighted. She reached out and ruffled his hair. “Be friends
with Elowen. Look out for each other. I believe you two will get along really well and be the best of friends.”
“Yes, best friends,” Dylan nodded vigorously.
After finishing her job in the afternoon, Thalassa hurried home without stopping.
When she opened the door, Evelyn was on the phone; her mood was quite sour.
“Bruce, you are nothing but a con man! What did you promise me, and how have you acted?”
“Don’t bother explaining, I don’t want to hear it! I’m going to sue you, con man. I’ll make sure you end up behind bars!” Finished
with her rant, Evelyn angrily hung the phone.
Her face was twisted in anger and her breath came in harsh pants.
Thalassa went over and sat beside her, breaking the silence, “Did you take the card from my bag with a billion and ten million on
it and give it to Bruce?”
Evelyn, already upset, broke down at Thalassa’s words, bursting into tears and pounding her chest in frustration.
Thalassa sat quietly beside her, waiting for her to finish crying.
After a while, Evelyn’s tears began to subside. She looked ahead; her eyes were filled with sadness and her body was limp and
exhausted.
Taking a deep breath, Thalassa asked in a weary tone, “What happened?”
Evelyn’s voice was heavy with sorrow, “He fooled me again. He said that in order to marry me, he didn’t reject a rich woman and
got a billion dollars from her. He used that money to divorce his ex-wife and marry me.”
Hearing Evelyn’s confession, Thalassa clenched her fists in anger. However, her eyes closed in frustration.
Evelyn continued in a low voice, “He said he has always loved me and never forgot me. He had been trying to divorce his wife,
but she demanded a billion dollars for the divorce. He promised to be with me as soon as he was divorced. I fell for his lies and I
gave him your card. But what did he do? He didn’t divorce and even bought a mansion for his wife and kids! I’m feeling hurt,
Thalassa...”
Evelyn held Thalassa’s arm with one hand and clutched at her chest with the other. It was as if her heart was physically hurting,
making it hard for her to breathe.
It seemed that she could only feel a little better by pounding her own chest.
Thalassa was filled with sorrow and frustration. She felt extremely bad.
In her despair, she revealed, “Mom, do you know who the rich woman Bruce was with? It was Lysander’s mother. Because of
him, Lysander’s parents both died in a car accident, leaving Lysander an orphan from a young age...”
Bruce, that scoundrel, had twisted the truth and continued to deceive Evelyn. It was infuriating!
“What?” Evelyn was so shocked that she even forgot to cry:
