The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 700
The moment Thalassa spotted Lysander, the soothing smile, which was just happily adorning her face, froze.
She sensed something was off about Lysander’s aura, but she couldn’t put her finger on it.
“Daddy, you bumped into me.” Elowen whimpered while rubbing her forehead with her tiny hand as her lips formed a sad pout.
Her childish and adorable voice made it hard for a person to be upset, even when she complained.
“Slow down, sweetheart.” Lysander’s deep voice softened. It was now a wash of paternal affection as he gently rubbed her head.
“Mmm.” Satisfied, Elowen gave him a cheerful nod and scampered out of the room.
As Lysander approached Thalassa, the atmosphere in the room grew tense and suffocating, making it hard for her to breathe.
Her hand, which was holding Sophia’s, involuntarily tightened.
Sophia seemed to sense the tension too. She snuggled closer to Thalassa as her innocent eyes looked at Lysander with
apprehension.
Mommy, does your foot still hurt?” Dorian asked while lying at the end of the bed as his gentle eyes fixed themselves on
Thalassa’s bandaged foot.
His innocent question eased the awkwardness in the room.
Thalassa managed a thin smile despite the pressure from Lysander’s presence. “It doesn’t hurt anymore. It’ll be better in a few
days.”
“That’s great! Once you’re better, we can take you to KFC. Chicken feet are supposed to be good for healing, right?” Dorian
suggested as his bright and adorable smile lightened up the room.
Thalassa understood what Dorian meant. He thought that by eating chicken feet, her foot would heal quickly. She chuckled at his
innocent and childish ideas, feeling comforted and loved.
Being surrounded by the love of her children made her feel like she had already fully healed, despite her difficulties.
“Mommy, Daddy, look what I’ve got!” Elowen burst into the room again, holding a red rose, the one that Dylan had given her.

Elowen ran to Thalassa’s bed, holding up the rose for her to see.
“What a beautiful flower.” Thalassa praised.
Elowen’s eyes sparkled. She then turned to Lysander and asked in her baby voice, “Daddy, do you think it’s pretty?”
Lysander’s eyes darkened, and he didn’t answer right away.
Thalassa anxiously watched Lysander, afraid he might hurt Elowen’s feelings.
Finally, he grunted an affirmative “Mhm.”
“Yay! I think it’s so pretty! I love it!” Elowen chirped as she bounced around the room like a little bird.
Lysander glanced at Fitch, who was standing by the door. “Take them down for dinner.”
Fitch nodded and began to usher the children towards the door.
Sophia lingered at Thalassa’s bedside. Her timid eyes stayed fixed on her mother. “Mommy...”
Thalassa gently rubbed her head to reassure her. “Go have dinner with Fitch. I’ll join you shortly.”
“Okay, but you must come, Mommy.” Sophia finally relaxed. Her mother would never break a promise.
“Alright.” Thalassa agreed.
Once the children left with Fitch, only Thalassa and Lysander were left in the room. The tension was palpable. Even Thalassa’s
shoulders tensed up. Lysander’s towering figure approached her, and his imposing presence cast a long, domineering shadow
over her.
Her heart pounded in her chest, not knowing what was troubling him. She looked at him warily. “The painkillers are really
effective. My foot feels much better after taking them.”
