The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 712
Lysander exuded a commanding presence, and his voice became a deep rumble.
Fitch was visibly apprehensive.
Time seemed to stand still for a moment.
“Whoa...” Dorian suddenly let out a cry.
He had turned to fetch his little backpack when his left foot tripped over his right, sending him tumbling to the ground headfirst.
His crying instantly filled the room.
As Fitch moved to check on him, a shadow moved quicker, swooping in to lift Dorian from the floor. Lysander’s eyes meticulously
scanned Dorian’s head for any injuries.
Seeing no apparent harm, he gently massaged Dorian’s head in an attempt to soothe him.
“What’s the matter, Dorian? Did you have a fight with your brother?” Thalassa asked anxiously as her voice echoed from Fitch’s
phone. She heard Dorian yell while still on the call.
“No, not at all.” Fitch replied hastily.
“Then, is it Lysander? Has he been mean to the kids?” Thalassa’s voice betrayed her concern. Her heart dropped when she
heard the sound of Dorian’s cries.
“Lysander is actually...” Fitch began, intending to say how good Lysander was to the children. His patience and fatherly love
were evident. He rushed to Dorian’s aid the moment he fell, comforting him with a gentle touch. Fitch had never seen this tender
side of Lysander before.
But as he was about to finish his sentence, he was met with Lysander’s penetrating, icy gaze.
The immense pressure of it made Fitch falter, and a cold sweat broke out across his forehead.
“What did Lysander do to the kids?” Thalassa asked as worry strained her voice when Fitch abruptly stopped.

Fitch knew he needed to tread carefully. “Ms. Everhart, as you know, Atticus and Dorian can sometimes be a handful. Lysander
can be a bit short on patience, and he can come off as quite stern. Dorian was actually brought to tears. Ms. Everhart, perhaps
you should come home and see them. They miss you.”
“What? How could he?” Thalassa was taken aback by this news. Her already worried heart had now dropped even further.
She recalled how good Lysander seemed to be with the children when she was at the Royal Estates.
Was it all just an act for her?
Was he trying to put up a front of a loving father in order to reassure her to leave the children with him?
Those were his children, too. How could he be so heartless?
Thalassa couldn’t shake off her concern after hearing what Fitch said. She couldn’t enjoy her drink anymore.
In a moment of clarity, Thalassa snatched the glass from Hertha’s hand and placed it on the table. “That’s enough for today. You
need to keep your wits about you. I need to leave.”
“Oh, you’re rushing back to Lysander?” Hertha asked as her tipsy eyes gleamed mischievously.
Flushing slightly under Hertha’s suggestive gaze, Thalassa averted her eyes. “I’ll call a cab for you.”
* 5 * F *
She quickly dialed for a cab.
“What about you?” Hertha asked. She was always concerned about her friend.
“I’ll take a cab too.” Thalassa replied in between her calls.
As she watched Hertha leave in the cab, Thalassa hailed a cab and headed towards Royal Estates. Her heart was in her throat
the whole journey. Her worries reached their peak as she stepped into the grand hall of the Royal Estates.
Under the bright lights, the four little bundles of joy were seated on a plush carpet, engrossed in a jigsaw puzzle.
Lysander sat on a nearby couch with his phone in hand, seeiningly working. The scene was a picture of harmonious warmth.
