The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 736
“B-type isn’t an option. Our blood bank has a small supply of O-type left. The hospital policy dictates that family members need
to donate blood when a patient requires a transfusion.” The doctor stated, pulling Thalassa out of her thoughts.
Thalassa nodded hastily.
After signing the surgical consent form, she immediately set off to donate blood. The doctor, meanwhile, retreated into the
operating room.

Having donated blood, Thalassa returned to the waiting area outside the surgical suite.
After about an hour, the operation room doors swung open. The doctor, masked and gloved, emerged.
Thalassa quickly approached him. “How is he?”
“Stable. We managed to stop the bleeding in time, and there were no critical injuries. We’ve put in a few stitches, so he’s only got
a minor concussion now. He’ll need some time to rest and recover.” The doctor responded.
Thalassa’s heart, which had been living in her throat, finally settled.
No major complications. That was good.
Thalassa accompanied the doctor as they escorted Bruce to his room. Due to the anesthesia, Bruce was still unconscious.
After locating his phone, Thalassa used his hand to unlock the device, found his wife’s contact, and placed a call.
She informed her that Bruce was hospitalized and asked her to come immediately.
Throughout the call, the woman on the other end kept questioning who she was. Thalassa only told her that she was a nurse.
After waiting for a while, Thalassa saw a woman rushing out of the lift. Her hair was a frazzled mess as she headed straight for
Bruce’s room.
That must be Bruce’s wife.

Thalassa followed and watched from the doorway as the woman bent over Bruce with a mix of surprise and worry in her voice.
“Bruce, is that really you? What happened?”
Seeing that it was indeed Bruce’s wife, Thalassa quietly left the hospital.
After stepping out, she called the matchmaker to check on her mother’s condition.
The matchmaker informed her that her mother had gone home.
Thalassa immediately hailed a cab and went home.
Her mother was seated on the living room couch, as her eyes portrayed a mix of terror and distress.
After walking up to her, Evelyn turned her gaze towards Thalassa. Upon seeing her daughter, her eyes widened slightly, and she
asked in a shaky voice, “How’s Bruce? Did I... did I kill him?”
The question had Evelyn trembling with fear. Even her hands were shaking.
Thalassa quickly sat next to her and took her hands in her own. “Bruce is okay. His wound has been stitched up, and he’s got a
minor concussion. He’s not in any immediate danger.”
“Will he accuse me of assault? I didn’t mean to hit him. I just lost my head...” Evelyn clutched Thalassa’s hand tighter as tears
streamed down her face.
“Mom, try to stay calm.” Thalassa squeezed her hand, trying to soothe her. “You need to stay composed, no matter what.”
Evelyn nodded. Her face was completely wet with tears. She regretted her actions and wondered why she hadn’t held back from
throwing that chair at Bruce. The thought of possible jail time was terrifying.
The more she thought about the consequences, the more terrified she became.
“I understand; I won’t lose control again. But Thalassa, will he send me to jail?” Evelyn’s fear was palpable.
“That’s up to him. If he decides to press charges, I’ll get you a lawyer. Don’t worry too much. I doubt he will, as doing so would
expose all his
wrongdoings. He wouldn’t risk it.” Thalassa tried to reassure her mother.

Bruce had deceived many women, many of whom were still in the dark.
If Bruce were to file a lawsuit, his dirty laundry would be aired out in the open. That would spell trouble for him.
“What about the medical bills?” Evelyn’s voice trailed off.
“I’ve taken care of the medical bills. Consider it as compensation. He pushed us to the wall, and I was just as furious as you
were. Mom, is he really my father? Thalassa stared intently at Evelyn. This was the second time she had asked this question.
