The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 776
Thalassa desperately wished for Leopold to find happiness with another woman; she longed to see his well-being.
Leopold’s grip tightened around his coffee cup, the veins in his hand were protruding with an intensity, which mirrored his inner
turmoil. He was fighting the urge to pull her into his arms.
After a moment, he loosened his grip on the cup, placed it on the table, and lifted his gaze to Thalassa, “Where’s your finance
department? I need to drop off the deposit.”
He didn’t respond directly to her words but shifted the conversation back to business matters, even managing to summon a small
smile to his lips.
Thalassa saw his smile and allowed her anxious hopes to dissipate. She ceased dwelling on their previous conversation and
focused on work instead.
“Let me show you,” she said, rising from her seat. Leopold followed.
They went to the finance department and he dropped off a deposit of three hundred thousand.
As Thalassa escorted him out of the Crawley Group, Leopold paused just before stepping into his car.
Thalassa halted behind him as well, watching as his back stiffened slightly.
After half a second, he turned back to her, his eyes were burning with sincerity. He grasped her shoulders and said, “Thalassa,
you saved my life without regard for your own. From that time on, I’d become yours. Trust me, I’ll do whatever it takes to make
sure you live the life you want.”
“Leopold, I...” Thalassa started to speak, but he was already in his car and shut his door. He denied her the chance to respond.
He didn’t wait for her to continue; instead, he started the engine and drove away.
Thalassa stood still, watching Leopold’s car disappear into the distance. His words echoed in her mind and left her with a bitter
taste.
She wanted nothing more than for him to fall in love with another woman, to start a new life. Yet, he claimed his life was hers.
This realization inflicted a fresh wave of pain on Thalassa’s heart.

She remembered the time Leopold, with Isabella Everhart in his car, was ready to meet his end in a fiery crash. She couldn’t
bear the thought of such a tragedy and had intervened.
She didn’t realize that Leopold held onto that memory so strongly. Didn’t he realize that the best way to repay her would be to
move on?
Why would she need his life?
In the afternoon, Thalassa didn’t head to the Royal Estates after work. She had spent the previous day there to keep Evelyn
company.
Every time she saw Lysander, he would leave her drained the next day.
She decided to take a break, to give herself time to fully recover before heading back to the Royal Estates to see the kids.
While she and Evelyn were cooking in the kitchen, Hertha burst in.
“Thalassa, I have something important to tell you,” she said, leading Thalassa out of the kitchen and back to her room. She even
closed the door behind them.
Thalassa raised an eyebrow, “What’s up? You’re acting all sneaky.”
Hertha made a face, looking like she was on the verge of tears. “Thalassa, I need to confess. I didn’t keep the promise I made to
you. I ran my mouth off.”
Thalassa’s eyes widened in surprise. “What happened?” She asked.
“Yesterday, I ran into Leopold at a bar. I think I was drunk, and I told him how broken you’ve been since your breakup. I blamed
him for not holding onto you, saying it’s his fault you’re having such a hard time now,” Hertha confessed.
Thalassa was taken aback, “You actually said that to him?”
