Chapter 794
Yeah, why would a phone suddenly explode?
And not just one, but two whole boxes of phones all at once. Normally, such an occurrence would be outrageous.
What exactly had happened?
Thalassa was deep in thought when she suddenly realized the route outside the window wasn’t familiar. This wasn’t the way
back to Crawley Electronics.
Coming back to her senses, she asked Ethan, “Mr. Ethan, where are we headed?”
“We’re off to the hospital to visit Leopold. He’s our client, after all. He’s been injured, and we ought to check up on him,” Ethan
replied.
Upon hearing they were going to see Leopold, Thalassa’s heart dropped. She suddenly felt tense.
What if Lysander found out she was visiting Leopold?
He would be furious, wouldn’t he?
She glanced down at the necklace around her neck, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. If she went to visit Leopold at the hospital,
there was no way Lysander wouldn’t find out.
Thalassa was still hesitant, telling Ethan, “Mr. Ethan, just drop me off at the next intersection. I can take a cab back to the office.
There’s still a lot of work I need to finish.”
“Visiting Leopold with me is part of your job. Those other tasks can wait,” Ethan dismissed her request.
He was Thalassa’s boss, and all her work was assigned by him.
Visiting Leopold was her responsibility. If she refused again, it would seem unrespectful.
Thalassa paused, not saying anything more.
Before long, the car pulled up in front of a supermarket near the hospital. Ethan got out, motioning for Thalassa to get out as
well.
“Come, let’s buy a few things.” Ethan led the way.
Thalassa was confused, asking, “What do we need to buy?”
Ethan turned to look at her, saying, “You’re visiting a patient, aren’t you? Surely you’re not planning on going empty-handed.”
“Oh, I see. Alright then,” Thalassa finally realized.
Ethan stood still, waiting for her to catch up. He looked at her, teasing, “Ever since I mentioned visiting Leopold, you’ve seemed
out of sorts. Is something bothering you?”
Thalassa was taken aback, hastily denying it, “No, nothing.”
“Good to hear,” Ethan said, continuing towards the supermarket.
Thalassa had hoped to stay in the background, following Ethan, but when they reached the supermarket shelves, Ethan said,
“Ms. Everhart, why don’t you choose? I’m sure Leopold would appreciate something chosen by you.”
His words implied that she knew Leopold well.
Thalassa retorted, “You’re both from wealthy families, with similar tastes. I’m just an ordinary person. Anything I choose won’t be
up to your standards. It’s better if you pick, Mr. Ethan.”
“No, you should choose,” Ethan insisted, “You two dated for two years in college, so you should know each other’s preferences
well. Leopold and I only know each other through this deal. We don’t have much in common.”
Thalassa was speechless.
She gritted her teeth silently, cursing Ethan for being even more cunning than David!
He was taking full advantage of his business acumen!
At first, she thought Ethan was all about fun and games, hanging out with Lysander at the Sapphire Skyline. She didn’t expect
him to be so calculating and crafty in business!
