Chapter 815
A tall, striking figure stood at the door. When Thalassa saw Lysander’s stoic, handsome face, her heart clenched.
Then her gaze fell to the four little cherubs at his feet. The tension in her heart was instantly replaced by joy and love. “My little
darlings, what brings you here?”
Thalassa’s voice softened unconsciously.
“Mommy, aren’t you surprised?” Elowen opened her chubby arms and ran to hug Thalassa’s leg.
Soon, Sophia came over, too, pressing herself against Thalassa’s leg, rubbing her small face against it, expressing her longing
for her mother.
Dorian and Atticus also walked in, standing by Thalassa’s side, their innocent eyes filled with longing and a hint of grievance.
Surrounded by the adorable little ones, Thalassa’s heart melted, and her eyes became slightly moist.
She held the hands of her four little treasures and led them inside. “What a wonderful surprise! I’m over the moon.”
“Oh my, our little angels are back. Let me have a look at you. Have you grown any taller?” Evelyn came over, her face beaming
with joy.
Looking at the four adorable children, her eyes were filled with fondness.
She squatted down and gave Atticus, Dorian, Elowen, and Sophia a big kiss each, the sound of her smooching filling the room.
“Grandma, you got saliva on my face.” Dorian rubbed his cheek where he had been kissed, but his voice was filled with
happiness.
“Haha, I missed you all so much.” Evelyn laughed heartily.
Seeing the heartwarming reunion between Evelyn and the children, Thalassa’s lips curled into a smile.
Suddenly remembering that someone had been ignored, she turned around to see Lysander still standing at the door, his deep
eyes filled with an ominous light as if brewing anger.
Thalassa’s heart sank, and she hurried over, politely and respectfully saying, “Come in. There are too many mosquitoes
outside.””
She had been so engrossed in welcoming the children that she had forgotten to invite Lysander in.
Only the children could make her forget about Lysander’s presence. In her heart, the children always came first.
Lysander shot her a sidelong glance, said nothing, and followed her inside.
The moment he stepped in, the room was filled with an oppressive aura. Evelyn, who was gleefully interacting with the children,
suddenly found her mood dampened by Lysander’s presence.
Her cheerful expression became awkward. She held the children’s hands and gently said, “Let’s play in the room with me. I’ve
folded a lot of paper toys for you, like boats, fans, everything.”
“Yay, I love boats.” Elowen cheered.
“I love fans.” Dorian chimed in.
The four little ones followed Evelyn into the room.
In the living room, Thalassa was left alone with Lysander.
His intimidating aura always made her feel uneasy.
“Um, why don’t you sit down? I’ll go make you some coffee,” Thalassa said, feeling slightly awkward. She was about to head to
the kitchen when her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
His rough palm, dry but warm, held her wrist. The contact sent a tingle through Thalassa, making her heart flutter. With a slight
tug, Lysander pulled her towards him, her body crashing into his firm chest, making her heart race.
Thalassa was startled, looking up into his deep eye. “Lysander, you can’t...”
This was her home. Her children and mother were here. He could not just...
Lysander stared at her, his eyes dim and unfathomable as he said, “What if I do?”
