The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 822
“Why?” Thalassa asked.
“I quit, Thalassa. I just can’t fit into the environment at Afriland. I can’t bear with the long business trip there so I put in my
resignation,” Betty explained with her back to Thalassa, her actions of packing up her stuff noticeably quickening.
“You could’ve asked Mr. Ethan to transfer you back.” Thalassa suggested.
Despite the fact that Thalassa held some grudges against Betty for she had stolen her necklace and been mean to her kids, she
couldn’t deny that Betty was a strong worker.
If she quit, it would be a loss for Ethan’s company.
Having finished her packing, Betty lifted her box and walked past Thalassa. Her voice was rushed, “That’s not something even
Mr. Ethan can decide; don’t you know that the best?”
As she spoke, her gaze landed on the necklace hanging from Thalassa’s neck. Her face paled instantly; her eyes were widening
in fear as she looked away and hurried out.
As though even a second’s delay would cost her life.
All her misfortunes could be traced back to that necklace, to a moment of greed and jealousy.
If she hadn’t taken the necklace and thought to sell it, she wouldn’t have been banished to Afriland, and she wouldn’t have been
attacked by some madman there, leaving a scar on her face.
The doctor had said the wound on her face was deep and might leave a permanent scar.
She’d been so scared that her face marred. She’d contacted Ethan in the middle of the night to have her transferred back. Ethan
had told her it wasn’t possible unless she quit.
For fear of her life, Betty had quit without a second thought.
After her resignation was approved, she was finally able to return.

Now seeing that necklace around Thalassa’s neck, the cause of all her misfortunes, Betty was as scared as if she’s seen a
ghost.
Watching Betty rush off, Thalassa pondered her words.
If even Mr. Ethan couldn’t decide Betty’s fate, who could?
Lysander?
Not only had Betty stolen her necklace and tried to sell it, but she’d also bullied Sophia, and Lysander had witnessed it. Sophia
was Lysander’s daughter. It would be strange if Lysander wasn’t angry and didn’t make Betty pay for her actions.
After working at her computer for a while, Thalassa was summoned to Ethan’s office.
“There’s a new development in the explosion case. You need to inspect Leossa Electronics today and keep an eye out for
anything
unusual,” Ethan instructed.
“What’s the new development? Can you tell me?” Thalassa asked curiously.
She’d been on vacation for four days and was somehow out of the loop on the investigation’s progress.
“I don’t know the specifics yet, but it seems like it’s not related to the Sinclair group. Leopold is responsible,” Ethan said.
Thalassa widened her eyes. Surprised and puzzled, she looked at Ethan.
The phone was produced by Leossa Electronics, a subsidiary of the Sinclair group. And Leopold was just the buyer. How could
he be responsible if something went wrong with the phone?
