Chapter 858
His jesting tone, the flamboyant allure of his looks, the devilishly captivating charm, and that provocative lift of his eyebrows...
Everything was oh-so familiar.
Damn it!
It was Alaric Falconer!
Upon recognizing the drenched man, Hertha’s eyes widened in shock.
There he was, out and about, flirting with multiple women at the same time.
How toxic!
He deserved that splash.
The woman was pretty, dressed up like a doll from a comic book. When Alaric asked her if she can’t handle a little fun, she
pouted at him, blaming him for his actions. “Mr. Falconer, you said you only loved me. Why are you chatting up other women
while we are on a date?”
“I’ve told many women that I only love them. I warned you about this beforehand. If you can’t handle it, then don’t waste our time.
You didn’t mind then, but now you’re making a fuss. What’s your game? I have plenty of women waiting in line, you know,” Alaric
said casually, wiping his face dry with a napkin. He didn’t care about her feelings.
Stifling her anger, the woman managed to suppress her initial impulse to storm away. Instead, she forced a smile and snuggled
up to Alaric. “Mr. Falconer, I’m sorry. I was just too impatient because I love you too much. There’s still water on your face. Let
me lick it dry for you.” She moved closer, intending to lick the water off his face.
“Good heavens, what an eyesore.” Noticing this, Hertha shivered, and felt goosebumps all over.
Alaric raised an eyebrow and saw Hertha at the adjacent table. Just as the woman was about to lick his face, he pushed her
away. “You can leave now. You’ve lost even the right to wait in line.”
The woman stumbled but managed to steady herself. “Mr. Falconer, please don’t. I’ve learned my lesson, so give me another
chance.”
Alaric gave her a cold look. “Leave. Don’t make me repeat myself.”
Scared by his sudden harshness, she hesitated before finally leaving, heartbroken.
Alaric cleaned his hands and walked over to Hertha and Thalassa’s table. His lips curled up into a teasing smile. “What a
coincidence, Hertha, Did you find out about my whereabouts and follow me here again?”
Hertha did a lot of this sort of thing to pursue Alaric, getting Alaric’s whereabouts in advance and then bringing Thalassa along
for a chance encounter with Alaric.
Hertha rolled her eyes. “You’re too narcissistic. We’re just here for a meal. If we knew we would witness such a nauseating
scene, we wouldn’t have
come.”
Alaric took a seat next to them, his smile never-fading. “What did you see?”
“I saw...” Hertha was about to reply when she noticed the knowing look in Alaric’s eyes. She realized he was baiting her into
admitting she had seen him with another woman. He was trying to make her jealous, wasn’t he?
Well, she wouldn’t give him the satisfaction.
Hertha quickly changed her tone and replied with a grin, “A puppy drooling over a dog in public, a sight so appalling it makes
everyone’s stomach churn.”
Alaric’s smile froze.
Did she just call him a dog?
“Hertha, watch your language,” Alaric warned.
