Chapter 860
Seeing those words, Thalassa’s spine tensed up instinctively.
It was as if an invisible pair of eyes were watching her, sending chills down her spine.
Thalassa subconsciously looked back through the window towards the bustling street outside the restaurant. She couldn’t spot
Lysander anywhere.
He hadn’t shown up, but he knew she was dining with Hertha.
Her every move seemed to be under his watchful eye.
This feeling of constant surveillance made Thalassa uncomfortable, and even her meal didn’t taste right.
“Thalassa, what are you looking at?” Hertha suddenly asked.
Thalassa shook her head lightly. “Nothing.”
She held her fork, her eyebrows furrowed. Watching Hertha enjoying her meal, she chose to say nothing.
Lysander was a dangerous man. Anyone who got involved with him ended up in trouble. Especially those related to her. If they
unintentionally upset Lysander, their fate wouldn’t be good.
Thalassa was now very worried about Hertha, her best friend. She shared everything with Hertha. The more Hertha knew, the
more dangerous it was for
her.
So from now on, she decided not to tell Hertha anything about her and Lysander, to avoid causing her unnecessary trouble.
With that thought, Thalassa picked up her phone and replied to Lysander’s message.
[Just started eating, won’t be done that soon. I won’t be going back to Royal Estates today. You don’t need to pick me up.]
After sending the message, she put her phone screen down on the table, to avoid seeing any new messages from Lysander.
She picked up her fork again and continued eating, faster and more vigorously. The more upset she was, the better she had to
take care of herself.
If she fell apart, the ones to suffer would be those around her. Protecting herself meant protecting them.
“Thalassa, you finally have an appetite! Eat a little more.” Hertha lifted her spirits seeing Thalassa eating more heartily.
She put more food on Thalassa’s plate, urging her to eat.
“Alright, you too.” Thalassa managed a slight smile and put food on Hertha’s plate as well.
“That’s more like it. We need to be full to deal with everything else.” Hertha’s radiant smile lit up seeing Thalassa eating with
gusto. It made her happier than anything.
Thalassa responded with a smile.
Having not eaten properly for several days, Thalassa was indeed hungry. Once her appetite was back, she ate a lot.
In no time, the plates were almost empty.
“Shall we order more?” Hertha asked.
“I’m full, but you order whatever you like,” Thalassa said, grabbing a napkin to wipe her mouth.
“Oh, I’m full too.” Hertha replied, “I thought you weren’t done. Let’s not order anything else to avoid waste. I’ll go pay the bill, you
wait here for a moment.”
Hertha headed to the counter.
When she came back, she and Thalassa left the restaurant. As they stood on the escalator, a commotion at the mall entrance
caught their attention.
People hurriedly made way, panicking.
A man dressed in black entered the mall, followed by a few bodyguards. Their powerful presence seemed invasive instantly
turning the lively mall into an atmosphere filled with tension and caution.
Thalassa looked towards the entrance, her gaze meeting those icy cold eyes. Her heart missed a beat, and she blinked in
surprise.
Lysander had shown up after all!
