The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 911
Furthermore, Thalassa had her own reasons. When she needed to unwind, she’d retreat to Evelyn’s place-a sanctuary away
from the ever-looming presence of Lysander. It granted her the solitude she craved.
But if Evelyn moved into the Royal Estates, Thalassa’s refuge would be compromised. She’d be on edge even there, always on
her. toes, ready to deal with Lysander’s incessant demands. There was no moment of relaxation for her body.
No way was Thalassa about to subject herself to that kind of torment.
Lysander’s deep-set eyes suddenly grew chilly, his face taut with tension. With a quick flick, he lifted her chin, forcing her to meet
his gaze.
“You’re bargaining with me using Leopold’s things?” His voice was a low growl, icy and restrained with anger.
At the heart of it, she was always willing to accept whatever Leopold gave her, but not the things Lysander offered. She had
maintained a consistent distance from him.
She loved Leopold, and that’s why she was willing to take the house from him.
With Lysander, it was mere obligation, so much so that she wouldn’t even accept his money!
The nerve of her, harboring feelings for another man yet dreaming of becoming Mrs. Sinclair!
He was determined not to follow in his father’s footsteps.
Thalassa felt the sudden chill emanating from Lysander, her pupils quivered, and she was about to speak when the door from the
downstairs room creaked open, and Evelyn’s groggy voice floated up.
“Thalassa, who’s there?”
Thalassa’s heart skipped a beat as she turned toward the sound and saw Evelyn. Her face flushed with panic as she quickly
turned away, removing Lysander’s finger from her chin and his arm from around her waist.
In a flurry, she stood up and walked over to Evelyn. “Mom, did we wake you up?”

Her face was a jumble of embarrassment and discomfort. The close encounter she’d had with Lysander had been witnessed by
Evelyn, and she was mortified.
“What are you doing up so late?” Evelyn grasped Thalassa’s hand, her tone a mix of reprimand and concern. Then, turning to
Lysander with a wary and polite smile, she said, “Mr. Sinclair, it’s quite late for a visit. I appreciate the thought. Would you like
some water?”
Evelyn made a move towards the kitchen.
Lysander, his face still an impassive mask, stood up and said coolly, “No, thank you.”
His shadowed eyes swept over Thalassa before he turned to leave.
“Thalassa, go and see Mr. Sinclair off.” Evelyn made no attempt to keep Lysander, instead signaling Thalassa to see him off.
Thalassa followed Lysander to the door, offering a simple, “Drive safe,” as he left.
Lysander turned back, his piercing gaze locking onto hers for a moment, making her breathless.
