The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 972
Lysander’s gaze was too penetrating, too intense. Thalassa couldn’t help but feel a twinge of guilt under his scrutiny.
Unable to hold his gaze any longer, she lowered her head, her eyes skirting away as she stammered, “It’s... it’s the guy you had
escorted out just now.”
Lysander’s eyes, profound pools of intrigue, deepened further as he observed her in silence.
As the silence thickened, Thalassa felt an unbearable weight pressing down on her.
His piercing stare seemed almost tangible, as if it could bore a hole right through her.
Feeling increasingly panicked, Thalassa struggled to withstand the pressure.
Lysander finally spoke, “Is that so? So, the case is closed then?”
Callum added, “When I burst into the room, all I saw was that scumbag.”
Thalassa was shocked and disbelieving as she cast a glance at Callum, quickly averting her eyes back to the ground.
Her reaction was immediate, a physical response devoid of thought.
As she realized her reaction might have been too telling and lowered her gaze, Lysander had already caught the fleeting change
in her demeanor. His eyes were icy, as if they had frosted over.
Thalassa dared not look at anyone, especially Lysander beside her. Even without making eye contact, she could feel his chilling,
intimidating presence, like needles on her skin.
Callum had clearly seen Bruce, yet he went along with her lie, choosing not exposing him.
What could be Callum’s motive for doing this?
Thalassa couldn’t fathom what was going through Callum’s mind. She had been surprised by his willingness to back up her lie,
prompting her to involuntarily glance at him.
Callum, however, had kept his attention on Lysander the entire time, not once glancing at Thalassa. Lysander was already irked
by their interaction; if Callum looked her way now, wouldn’t that just infuriate Lysander further?

Previously, outside the bar, Callum had deliberately mentioned pursuing Thalassa just to gauge Lysander’s reaction.
Callum wondered if Lysander’s reaction was because of his possessiveness or fear of losing Thalassa?
That time, Lysander had reacted strongly, kissing Thalassa forcefully in front of him and whisking her away.
It became clear to Callum that Lysander’s control over Thalassa went beyond mere possessiveness.
With Lysander already on edge, provoking him would not end well.
Therefore, this time Callum refrained from showing any interest in Thalassa.
Lysander’s cold gaze shifted towards Callum. He wrapped an arm around Thalassa’s waist, pulling her close, and said in a frosty
tone, “It seems you have quite a fondness for my lady!”
Callum was taken aback, and Thalassa’s heart sank as she turned to look at Lysander’s profile.
His features were tight, his angular face looking as if it could shed ice.
Thalassa tensed up, her heart constricting, and her breathing became labored.
She was so close to Lysander that she could clearly sense the gunpowder in the air around him
Did he still not trust that there was nothing between her and Callum?
Callum, too, was taken aback. Despite making no overt advances toward Thalassa this time, Lysander’s jealousy remained as
potent as ever.
Perhaps the words he had previously spoken had struck a nerve with Lysander, igniting a fierce desire to possess Thalassa.
Callum flashed his customary warm smile, lightly touching his nose with his index finger, and said with a chuckle, “If that were
true, would you let her go?” “You excel at daydreaming, Mr. Gordon,” Lysander shot Callum a cool glance, holding Thalassa
close by the waist and turning to leave with her.
