Chapter 975
Thalassa snapped back to reality, hurrying to keep up.
After descending from the rooftop, she entered Lysander’s office. As soon as she walked in, the glass door swung shut behind
her and locked with an ominous click.
Her body tensed, a primal sense of danger coursing through her veins.
Without warning, Lysander’s hand snaked around her slender waist, pulling her forcefully against his muscular torso. Her
forehead collided with his chest, sending her heart into a frenetic gallop, like a startled fawn crashing into a cloud-confused and
alarmed.
“Lysander, what are you doing?” she demanded, her voice shaky.
“You,” he responded with a single word, his low, icy voice sending shivers down her spine.
Thalassa’s eyes widened in panic. In a brief struggle, she realized that his grip was unyielding-she was trapped, her body
involuntarily brushing against his.
Suddenly, she felt a telling change in him.
Her cheeks flushed with shock, and she stilled immediately, daring not to squirm anymore.
Before Lysander, any struggle seemed only to heighten the peril.
Lifting her gaze, she met his eyes-deep and fathomless as the night sky, exuding an invasive, predatory intent.
Her heart quivered at the sight.
“What happened tonight? Did any man touch you?” Lysander’s voice was dangerously low.
The air around him felt oppressively heavy, enough to make one’s teeth chatter in fear.
Thalassa shook her head frantically, “No one... no one touched me.”
“I need to check,” he declared, his tone imperious.
“How?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
“What do you think?” He tilted her chin up, forcing her to look straight into his penetrating gaze.
Her heart raced as she thought about what his “checking” might entail. She’d just escaped a harrowing ordeal, and the mere
thought of intimacy now filled her with intense dread and unease.
Could he really be so callous as to demand such a thing from her at this moment?
“Really, there was no one, Lysander. Can’t you just trust me? I was kidnapped today, and if it hadn’t been for Callum’s timely
arrival, I... might’ve been ruined. I truly don’t want to do... that... tonight...”
“Callum!” Lysander hissed through clenched teeth, recalling the sight of Callum holding her in a close embrace.
“We didn’t do anything.” Thalassa’s voice trembled.
“Then prove it to me,” he demanded, his frosty command echoing in the room as he grabbed her shoulders and spun her
around, pushing her towards the couch.
A searing pain radiated from her shoulder, causing Thalassa to tightly knit her brows in discomfort. Earlier, Bruce’s grip had
almost broken her shoulder, and now, with a push from Lysander, the pain intensified.
Yet, she knew better than to expect any tenderness from Lysander.
With a rough shove, he forced her down, making her sprawl across the couch. One hand turned her face towards him while the
other pinned her waist. One knee on the couch and one foot planted firmly on the ground, his powerful chest enveloped her as
his breath fanned across her face before his lips captured hers with precision.
“Umm...” Thalassa’s muffled protest was lost as his masculine essence overwhelmed her senses.
His kiss was fierce and wild, claiming every inch of her mouth.
Her tongue tingled under his assertive exploration, her pupils dilated, and her lashes fluttering helplessly.
She wanted to push him away, but her body was prone on the couch, only her face turned towards him. Her hands couldn’t even
reach him.
Pushing him away was out of the question. She could barely even move.
