The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen)

Chapter 997
“Alright, fair enough. If you want to snag a catch like Lysander, you gotta have a game plan.” Lucy conceded for her daughter’s
safety.
Still, she harbored doubts and asked Thalassa, “Do you really mean to give up on Lysander, for the sake of your family?”
Thalassa paused. Her gaze shifted to Bruce.
Bruce looked away, his hand absentmindedly brushing his nose.
That gesture was a telltale sign of guilt.
Thalassa knew then that Bruce hadn’t confessed to Lucy his dirty secrets. He and his daughter were in cahoots while keeping
Lucy in the dark..
“You might not be aware, but all I want is my children. Only if Susan wins Lysander over could I take my children away.” Thalassa
covered for Bruce once more, even as her heart trembled with rage.
Once she got rid of that damning footage, she was going to make Bruce pay his dues!
Lucy suddenly understood, and her confusion dissipated.
She had suspected Thalassa’s motives. How could Thalassa give up on a good man like Lysander for Bruce, a father who
shirked his responsibilities? So, it was about the custody of the children. Thalassa, just like her mother, was foolish enough to
forego wealth and status for her kids.
Indeed, these country women were stupid as such!
Lucy silently scoffed at Thalassa and her mother Evelyn.
“Thalassa, come and eat. These dishes were made just for you.” Lucy said and picked up her fork and knife, ready to serve
Thalassa some food. Then, as if struck by a pang of conscience, she put down her used cutlery and picked up the serving
utensils instead, offering Thalassa a slice of pot
roast.

The sight of the meat turned Thalassa’s stomach. She was doing good not to hurl as she saw it, let alone taking a bite.
She pulled out her phone and tried to open a streaming app, but no luck no connection.
She glanced up calmly and asked, “What’s your WiFi password here? I’m bored and need to catch up on some videos.” Bruce
rattled off the network name and password.
Thalassa connected her phone. In her heart was a mix of relief and tension, but she managed to keep a calm expression.
In the kitchen, Susan sliced up a piece of chocolate cake and was ready to bring it out.
Then she noticed a fresh, steaming pile of dog shit on the floor.
Their terrier had made yet another indoor mess. She was fuming and was about to scold the dog, but another wicked idea
immediately took root. Eyeing the cake in her hand, she smirked.
Thalassa wanted cake, did she?
Did she think their home-baked treats were that irresistible?
Barely containing her disgust, she picked up some of the mess with a pair of tongs and tucked it into the middle of the cake.
After that, she carried the cake out to Thalassa and set it down in front of her with a smile. “Thalassa, you must try this chocolate
cake. It’s divine, my absolute favorite. I cut a piece just for you today. Please, have a taste. It’s truly scrumptious.”
Thalassa gave Susan a look and picked up the cake from the table.
