Chapter 107
The men of the Youngblood family should never fall in love with a woman.
“You...” Leonard’s face was stained with anger. As someone who had just been rescued two days ago, it was obviously bad for
his health
But Jonathan had no intention of appeasing Leonard. Instead, he said lightly, “Grandpa, since I say so in front of you today, it
means that I have the absolute ability to protect her. Your doctor has told me that if you take care of your health properly. you can
live a few more years.”
Leonard seemed to laugh out of anger and said, “Well, as expected from my grandson. It seems that you are really in love with
that woman. Have you forgotten the example set by your father? Are you trying to end up like him?”
“I didn’t forget that. Even if I really loved a woman, I wouldn’t let her control my life,” Jonathan replied.
Yet, Leonard responded mockingly, “Your father said the same thing before, but what happened in the end? He still lost his life
for a woman!”
“I’m not him!” Jonathan said coldly and stood up slowly, then walked to Leonard and leaned down. With his deep, black eyes, he
looked straight at Leonard. “Grandpa, I’m not my father. Don’t Jump us together!”
They looked at each other so closely. The tension in the air permeated again, and there was even a faint sense of imminence.
Then, Leonard’s voice finally broke the silence. “So, you are going to marry her?”
“It’s not impossible,” Jonathan answered. For him, he would always marry a woman into the Youngblood family. In the past, he
had no opinion on who he should marry, as it was just to find a mother for the future successor of the Youngblood family.
But now, he felt Rosalie would be a good choice if he had to stay together with a woman for the rest of his life. At least he
wouldn’t feel bored looking at her and even liked being with her very much.
He desired her and wanted to hide and lock her up so that no one would see her smile and gentleness.
He never had this kind of possessiveness toward any woman in the past..
Even more, he couldn’t seem to accept her marrying another man. At the thought of her belonging to another man, an emotion
called “jealousy” would spread within him.
“Really?” Leonard had not gotten angry when he heard that. “I have investigated that this wornan called Rosalie seems to have
known your identity, but she is still renting a farmer’s house now. It seems that she may not be willing to marry you.”
“If I really want her to marry me, it’s just a matter of time.” Jonathan smiled gently, and his eyes showed a determined look.
“Grandpa, if I want a woman to be mine, then she must be willing to do it!”
“So much for her being willing to do it! Leonard coughed again, then grabbed a stack of documents placed on the bedside table
of his hospital bed and threw them at Jonathan, seemingly using all his might. “Do you think she would really be willing to stay
with you after all those things that happened back then?”
The papers were scattered all over the floor.
Jonathan bent down and picked up a few papers, then lowered his head to look at them.
Leonard said sternly. “If she knew that the car accident was just a battle for power and profit, and she was only a poor sacrifice,
plus your role in it, do you still think she would be willing to marry you if she really knew the truth?”
The smile on Jonathan’s face gradually disappeared, and there was a kind of coldness on his handsome face at the moment.
“I didn’t expect you to find out all this, Grandpa”
“You didn’t care
“Otherwise, I out this matter at first, so you didn’t even think about hiding anything, right?” Leonard said and thought,
find it out easily.”
“Well, I was negligent.” Jonathan seemed to admit his mistakes.
“Tell me. What will Rosalie think when she knows the truth one day?” Leonard asked.
Jonathan suddenly smiled, but his eyes were filled with iciness. “She will never know the truth”
Leonard snorted. “Do you think it’s possible? Since I know now, it’s hard to say that one day, she will also—”
But before Leonard could finish his words, Jonathan interrupted him. “She definitely won’t find out. Am I right, Grandpa?”
Jonathan’s cold and gorgeous voice was so soft that it could only be heard by two people, but Leonard saw a kind of threatening
light in Jonathan’s eyes.
Leonard thought, “Did Jonathan just threaten me because of a woman?” A sense of uneasiness surged through Leonard’s
heart.
Leonard thought, “Will Jonathan really not be controlled by a woman in the future? Or maybe... Would it get worse?”
On the weekend, Rosalie took a bus and arrived at the hospital Wilma was at.
Wilma’s ward was crowded with relatives. After seeing Rosalie, everyone had various entertaining expressions on their faces.
Especially the families of Daniel, Edward, and Sarah. They all looked at Rosalie with fear and hatred.
Rosalie didn’t bother to pay attention to what those people were thinking. What she cared about was Wilma’s illness.
“Rosalie.” Wilma looked at Rosalie and called the latter’s name strenuously. “Come here. Let me have a good look at you.”
Rosalie walked to the bedside and held Wilma’s hand. “Granny.”
“I know you’re wronged this time.” Wilma’s eyes teared up.
“I just hope you can get better, Granny,” Rosalie said.
Sarah, who was standing beside Rosalie, couldn’t help but complain, “Mom, why is she wronged? It was us who were locked up
for so long...
“How dare you say that?” Wilma glared at Sarah with hatred.
Sarah seemed to still refuse to accept the fact and wanted to say something more, but she was stopped by other relatives. Other
relatives tried to mediate the situation, so the topic passed just like that.
Wilma took Rosalie by the hand and spoke with the latter for a long time. However, because Wilma was still ill after all, she didn’t
talk for too long and was already a little tired.
The nurse came in and asked everyone to leave so that the patient could rest.
After leaving the ward, some distant relatives left the hospital first. Rosalie’s grandfather Luke López said, “Although Wilma’s
sickness is just managed for now, her medical expenses are still quite expensive. How about this? You all should pitch in, each
contributing a certain amount.”
Daniel, Edward, and Sarah seemed to have known it for a long time. Instead, they all looked at Rosalie in unison.
