The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 162
“So, you’re Rosalie Leighton.” Callum’s words were not a question but a statement. When he chanced upon Lillian on the street
that day, he immediately began to inquire about everything regarding Lillian.
Without a doubt, Rosalie was also included in the information he had found.
He knew that Rosalie was Lillian’s best friend, and it was also because of Rosalie that Lillian abruptly took the soonest flight.
back home in order to file a lawsuit, then spared no effort to find lawyers and all kinds of evidence for Rosalie.
In other words, it was because of Rosalie that Lillian left him so quickly.
Thinking of this, Callum felt uncomfortable for some reason.
Had Rosalie not been a woman, Callum would likely have wanted to treat her as his love rival.
“Yes, I am.” Rosalie raised her chin.
“You’re not qualified to interfere in the affairs between Lillian and me, and it’s best you be a little self-aware of your place. I have
never shown mercy to women,” Callum warned coldly.
Lillian got anxious. “Callum White, don’t implicate my friend in our matters!”
However, the more anxious she was, the more annoyed Callum felt at this scene.
At this moment, Jonathan finally said languidly, “I don’t care what happens between you and Lillian, but you can’t lay a finger on
Rosalie.”
Callum turned to Jonathan with slight perplexment in his eyes. I truly didn’t expect that you’d come here this late at night, Mr.
Youngblood.”
Of course, what genuinely surprised him was the relationship between Jonathan and Rosalie. After investigating Rosalie, he
naturally knew that she had run over and killed Jonathan’s fiancée, Melanie. But now, anyone could tell that the relationship
between Rosalie and Jonathan was anything but ordinary.
‘I’m taking Lillian away tonight,” said Jonathan.

Callum frowned and sneered, “Didn’t you just say that you don’t care what happens between me and Lillian, Mr. Youngblood?
Jonathan answered, “I naturally won’t care after tonight, but I have to take her away now.”

The two men faced each other, and there seemed to be a kind of tension in the air, which made people breathless. Rosalie and
Lillian also couldn’t help but exchange helpless glances.
“If I disagree, do you intend to forcefully take her away, Mr. Youngblood?” asked Callum.
“Indeed,” Jonathan replied, looking confident as if it was a walk in the park for him to take Lillian away from another person’s
territory.
Callum’s gaze gradually dimmed. Although he had not taken over the White family for a long time, and the Whites were not
based in Strico at all, he was cognizant of the status Jonathan had in Strico.
He turned around and looked at Lillian. ‘Do you want to leave, then?”
Stunned, Lillian looked at the man whom she hadn’t seen for more than three years and hesitated briefly. “I do.”
Callum compressed his thin lips. “Sure enough, you’re still as heartless as before.”
Lillian wanted to retort, but his gaze made her feel like something was lodged in her throat, rendering her incapable of forming
words. At the same time, the pain in her heart seemed to surge up again, too.
Just like that, Jonathan left Callum’s residence with Rosalie and Lillian. Callum ordered the subordinate who brought them in,
“You can leave.”
“Yes, sir, the guard answered.
At last, Callum took out a piece of crumpled, yellowing paper from his pocket.
It read: [I’m sorry. 1 have to leave in advance.]
This was the note Lillian left behind back then, and he had been carrying it with him all these years.

On several occasions, he had been so livid that he balled up the note and threw it into a trash can, only to go through the trash to
look for it afterward.
This piece of paper was like a thorn in his heart. He couldn’t pull it out, nor could he bear to do so.
It was as if this had become the only thing she left him. If he lost it, then he would have nothing left of her. Thankfully, now, he
finally found her.
“Lillian... Lillian Quinn...” Callum murmured her name repeatedly and kissed the note in his hand. That was the extent of his
attachment to her.
Meanwhile, Lillian followed Rosalie into Jonathan’s car and said to them, “Thank you.”
Jonathan simply answered indifferently. ‘T’ll take you home first. Where do you live?”
Lillian quickly gave her address, but Rosalie still asked a little worriedly. “Did that Callum guy really not hurt you?”
“He purely made me sit in the chair and look at him for three hours,” Lillian revealed. “I wanted to call you, but he confiscated my
phone, so I...
Speaking of the phone, she suddenly remembered that her phone was still in Callum’s hand, and there was some information
about her work on it.
At the thought of this, Lillian felt a headache coming, contemplating, “Should I look for Callum again and ask for my phone? Or
should I just take it as I lost it? Ugh, what a dilemma!”
“What’s wrong?” Rosalie queried.
“Nothing.” Lillian shook her head and looked at Jonathan, who was driving in the front row. She found it quite unbelievable that
she could actually be chauffeured by the man.
In addition, she knew that Jonathan only came to save her because of Rosalie’s request. “I’m sorry for worrying you.” Lillian
looked at Rosalie guiltily.
“I’m just glad you’re fine,” replied Rosalie.

When the car arrived at the gates of Lillian’s residential area, Lillian got out, and Rosalie took the initiative to sit back in the front
passenger seat, turning to Jonathan. “Thank you for helping me today.”
He swiveled his head around, and his gaze landed on her face. The moonlight shone on her face through the car window,
making her look as serene as ever.
Previously, however, because of Lillian, Rosalie was like a cat on a hot tin roof and even seemed like she could give up
everything, including the bit of pride she had left.
“Just because... Lillian was her last hope?” he wondered.
“If I’m in danger someday, will you go down on your knees to save me?” Jonathan asked in a low voice.
That mildly hoarse voice rang in her ear, making Rosalie tremble a little.
She looked at his dark eyes and subconsciously wanted to agree without hesitation.
Nevertheless, her rational mind stopped her before she could answer. “What’s wrong with me? How could a person like
Jonathan be in danger?” she mused.
