Chapter 293
Rosalie was taken aback. She hadn’t anticipated Loretta being the guest for today.
Roadshows occasionally featured surprise guests to delight the audience.
But they usually invited big names. Loretta, before becoming Calvin’s girlfriend, was a relatively unknown actress in the
entertainment industry.
Her fame was mostly attributed to Calvin. During this period, thanks to her relationship with him, Loretta gained access to many
favorable opportunities.
However, apart from a few advertisements, her other film and music projects were still in production and hadn’t been officially
released.
So, in reality, Loretta didn’t have a significant body of work yet. Her presence as a guest was, simply put, due to her association
with Calvin.
Lillian turned to her friend, wearing a face filled with embarrassment and regret. “I’m sorry, Rosie. I had no idea Loretta would be
the guest today.”
If she had known, she wouldn’t have bought tickets for this roadshow.
Rosalie smiled, “There’s no need to apologize. It’s not your fault, and besides, we’re here to see Dominic, not Loretta.” However,
Lillian still couldn’t shake off her unease. As a result, during the movie screening, she seemed a bit distracted, still preoccupied
with the fact that Loretta was the guest.
When the movie ended, Lillian didn’t urge Rosalie to help her get a photo with Dominic or anything of the sort. Instead, she
suggested, “Let’s go.”
Surprised, Rosalie asked, “Don’t you want a photo?”
Lillian shrugged, “Maybe some other time.”
“It’s fine. Try this time,” Rosalie said. She knew how much her friend had hoped to get a photo or an autograph today, and she
didn’t want her to leave disappointed just because of Loretta’s presence.
Saying the words, Rosalie dialed Jonathan’s number. “Jon, could you help me find Dominic’s contact information or his
manager’s? I’m with Lillian right now, and we’d like to meet Dominic for a quick photo. It shouldn’t take up too much of his time...
Yeah, thanks. I appreciate it.”
After ending the call, Rosalie met her friend’s expectant eyes and gave her a reassuring smile. “Alright, Jon said he’ll help me get
in touch. He’ll have someone contact me shortly, so we just need to wait for a call
Lillian was amazed. “Wow, that’s incredible!” At first, she had just thought it would be worth a try. She had even considered that
maybe they wouldn’t be able to get close to Dominic with so many fans around, even if Dominic knew Rosalie. After all, there
were so many fans here, the crowd of whom they’ve got to come through.
She hadn’t expected it to be this simple.”
Before long, Rosalie’s phone rang, and it was Dominic himself. After confirming their location, he assured them that someone
would come to escort them to the resting place.
“Oh
my, I’m going to faint!” Lillian exclaimed once Rosalie ended the call. “Dominic called you. Does this mean you have his personal
contact? You know, many people can’t even get his phone number!”
Rosalie couldn’t help but laugh. “Well, maybe when you meet Dominic later, you can ask him if he’d be willing to share his phone
number with you?”
“I’d love to, but...” Lillian hesitated for a moment, her mind flashing back to Callum’s warning. She shuddered involuntarily and
then said, “You know what, never mind.”
Callum had been quite direct with her, saying, “You’re my girlfriend now, and if I ever find out that you’ve become closer to
Dominic than just a regular fan and idol relationship, I’ll make sure he’s blacklisted in the entertainment industry. You won’t even
get to see him on the screen anymore.”
If someone else had said those words, she might have taken it as a joke, but considering Callum’s possessive nature, Lillian had
a feeling he might actually follow through on that threat.
So, she decided against exchanging phone numbers. Just getting a photo and an autograph, and maybe a few more posters,
would be enough to make her happy.
Before long, a young woman approached Rosalie and Lillian briskly. She greeted them, saying, “Hello, Ms. Leighton.” Rosalie
recognized her as Dominic’s assistant, recalling having seen her with Dominic on a previous occasion. “Hello, Rosalie replied.
Please follow me, the assistant said, leading Rosalie and Lillian through a separate employee passage.
What Rosalie had not expected was that after only a few steps down the employee passage, they ran into Loretta.
Loretta was accompanied by her manager, and they seemed engrossed in conversation.
Rosalie briefly considered pretending not to recognize her. However, Loretta put on a smile and took the initial to address her,
“Oh, my sister, what a surprise! What brings you here?”
Rosalie squinted suspiciously, as Loretta usually preferred to keep their sisterhood a secret in public, considering Rosalie’s past
incarceration potentially embarrassing.
But now, she acted out of her character.
The assistant guiding Rosalie wore a surprised expression, clearly not expecting Rosalie and Loretta to be sisters.
“This is the employee passage, are you here... looking for Mr. Dominic Caesar?” Loretta recognized the assistant as the one
accompanying Dominic today.
“Ms. Leighton and her friend want to take a photo with Mr. Caesar and get an autograph,” the assistant explained proactively.
Given that Loretta had mentioned Dominic and they were in a part of the employee passage close to the entrance where many
fans had gathered, the assistant wanted to avoid any misunderstandings that might affect Dominic’s image.
“I see,” Loretta smiled. “If you and Lillian want to see Mr. Caesar, you should’ve just told me. I can take you to him. No need to
trouble Mr. Caesar’s assistant.”
As she spoke, Loretta approached Rosalie affectionately and attempted to take her hand as if she intended to personally escort
Rosalie to Dominic’s resting place.
Rosalie, however, responded with a hint of coldness, saying, “Let go. I don’t care what you’re planning, but I don’t want to
cooperate with you.”
“Is that so?” Loretta whispered softly, in a voice only they could hear. “But you told me to let go, remember? Don’t regret it.” With
those words, Loretta suddenly released her grip on Rosalie’s hand and staggered backward as if someone had forcefully pushed
her.
