The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike

Chapter 337
“Yeah.” Rosalie sighed. “There should be no more misunderstanding in the future. And it’s good that he found the person he’s
been looking for.”
“Guess that he won’t be crying like that anymore,” she thought. She couldn’t help thinking of the night when Calvin cried in
front of her.
Somehow, she felt something on her chest that was choking her, and her head was throbbing.
Rosalie suddenly stopped and raised her hand to touch one side of the forehead.
“What’s wrong?” Jonathan asked with concern.
“Nothing. I just... I just got a headache all of a sudden.”
Seeing her pale face, he frowned and said, “You don’t look well. How about we find a motel nearby and get you some rest?”
There weren’t any decent hotels around here, just a few small motels.
“No need,” said Rosalie. It was just a sudden pain and it had gone while she was talking. “I’m fine now. I want to stay with
Grandma a little longer.”
After a pause, she continued, “I’m going to stay here for another three days, Jon. I won’t go back to Strico before the funeral. You
can go first.”
“Have you forgotten what I said? I said that I would always be here for you.” Jonathan said.
Rosalie said, “Three days is a long time. Don’t you need to go back and take care of the company? I can do this on my own.
Anyway... All I did was sit here and watch Grandma.”
She was more like an outsider when she was here with her grandma these days. She didn’t say anything to those who had come
to see her grandmother one last time except to bow to them.
On the contrary, Fiona was treated like a superstar by them. All of them were fawning on her.
Rosalie knew that the change in their attitudes towards Fiona was because of Calvin.

“I will
stay with you no matter how many days you’re gonna stay here.” Jonathan said, “I don’t want you to be alone here.”
“It’s okay. Now that Uncle Daniel, Uncle Edward, and Aunt Sarah have known who you are, they dare not treat me the way they
used to.” Rosalie sounded sure.
After all, few people dared to offend Jonathan, let alone those bullying relatives.
“I know they wouldn’t dare bully you. I just can’t help worrying about you.” Jonathan said, “I’ll only feel relieved when I’m by your
side.”
Besides, it wasn’t just her relatives who worried him. There was another man...
Thinking of this, Jonathan’s eyes darkened.
As expected, after returning to the Lopez family, Rosalie saw Fiona surrounded by relatives and neighbors in the town. They
were flattering Fiona as usual and many of them wanted to get into the entertainment industry with Fiona’s help.
Apparently, Fiona loved being flattered.
At this moment, seeing Rosalie coming in, someone said immediately, “I always thought that Rosalie would be the most.
promising one in the Lopez family. It turned out that the kid everyone thought was the best is now the worst, and Fiona has
become the most promising one in this family.”
He was flattering Fiona by degrading Rosalie. Usually, Fiona loved to hear this because she was always compared to Rosalie
since they were about the same age and looked alike.
Besides, Rosalie used to be a very good student who did well in school and went to the best university, and Fiona was always
overshadowed by her.
Therefore, Fiona always hoped that one day she would be better than Rosalie, but that was her thought before she learned that
Jonathan was Rosalie’s boyfriend.
Now, after knowing who Jonathan was, Fiona thought that this relative was making things difficult for her, so she felt
embarrassed immediately.

However, that man didn’t seem to be done. Instead, he continued, “There’s a good chance Rosalind has something to do with
your grandmother’s illness. She must have been very upset that someone in the family had been in prison. But thankfully, you’re
way better than her, Fiona, and you saved Mr. Gunner when you were a child. He’s been looking for you for so many years, and
since he finally found you, you’ll live a carefree life for the rest of your life.”
Fiona’s face darkened and she took a secret glance at Rosalie, fearing that she would remember something after hearing the
relative’s words.
Unexpectedly, she saw Jonathan staring at her. His deep eyes seemed to mock her, making her panic.
He looked at her as if he were saying “I know you’re nothing but a fraud.”
“Okay, that’s enough!” Fiona stopped the relative hurriedly. “Rosalie has nothing to do with Grandma’s illness. She’s still lying in
the coffin now and what you said just now is so disrespectful!”
After saying that, Fiona hurried to Rosalie and comforted her. “Don’t mind them. They were just talking bullshit. You’re my sister
and no one’s gonna drive a wedge between us.”
The relative who was scolded by Fiona looked confused. He thought, “Did I say something wrong? Fiona used to laugh at
Rosalie for having been in prison, didn’t she?”
Rosalie was not in the mood for their snide remarks about her, and she didn’t want to argue with anybody in the Lopez family
and disturb her grandma, so she just said indifferently, “I’m going to stay with Grandma.” Then she walked towards the room
where her grandma’s coffin was.
Jonathan followed Rosalie, but before entering the room, he looked at the relative who belittled her deliberately.
Suddenly, that man had shivers down his spine. He had goosebumps all over his body and felt as if he had stepped into hell in
an instant.
He thought, ‘What was that?
Why did his eyes scare me so much?”
Rosalie sat by her grandma’s coffin all night and Jonathan sat next to her to keep her company.
“You can lean on me to get a nap if you feel sleepy,” Jonathan said.

“It’s okay. I’m fine,” Rosalie said. She looked at her grand who looked like a sleeping baby in the glass coffin. “People are born
with nothing and die with nothing. I sometimes think a lot of people don’t know what they’re living for.”
“Not really. At least, I know what I’m living for!” said Jonathan.
Rosalie turned to look at Jonathan and heard him say, “I lived to meet you and fall in love with you.”
Because after falling in love with him, he felt that living was not just about living. He had what he wanted to get and a bright
future. After falling in love with Rosalind, he realized for the first time that people didn’t just live to survive. Now he had a desire
for many things and hope for the future.
